but lets be real, he was a 30th pick who is benefiting greatly from having offensive options next to him which has opened up the floor for him since so much attention is paid to rose, gasol, now taj and whatever shooter is on the floor with them whether it be mirotic dunleavy snell or dougie fresh. and he playing out his mind for a contract
we saw what he looked like when he was relied on to be a major offensive option. dj augustine and nate robinson were more explosive on vet min deals brehs. jimmy is becoming the new glue guy like deng tho but we need to learn from our mistakes and not over pay for that. 5-7 mill is fair for jimmy. and if he not down for that price you package jimmy maybe mirotic and some picks and see if golden state wants to swap headaches lol but klay is worth 10 mill or more. jimmy im not sure about that.

Klay thompson cannot create his own shot and wants the max
Avery bradley got 4 years 32 million.Jimmy butler is better than bradley and made 2nd team all defense and is a way better defender who can contain elite scorers on top of being a ball hawk who plays 40-44 mins a game he should get 8-10 mil a year.A 4 year 36-44 million deal would be good for butler.Lol @ trading picks,mirotic and butler for klay thompson thank god you nikkas aren't gm's
I'd throw Butler 9M a year and hope he bites.
The alternative is either losing him this summer for nothing or matching a 14-15M contract, either way we're fukked.
We're not gonna be in a position to be players in FA for about 3-4 years, getting Butler on a value deal does nothing to help us with flexibility.
A 25 year old elite defender with decent slashing ability, who should see his efficiency go up playing with some viable offensive options isn't gonna sign for 5-7M.

secondly i would be good with 8 mill as well, but you got dudes talking 13-15 mill which is just way too much. jimmy is not in klay stratosphere offensively and klay is just as capable defender and can become even better under thibs. thibs system and how he plays dudes continue to fool you dudes and yall over value them. no offense but klay has shown clear all star quality talent and jimmy has not as of yet. so yeah klay worth more and only a bulls fan would think otherwise.

If becomes a solid jump shooter again this season, he's gonna get a max offer.
Unless Jimmy has some type of metamorphosis, and starts creating for Rose, I'm not trying to hear anything in the 8 digits annually for him. Thibs can make a player in the same mold of Jimmy through the draft.

Bulls don't have time for all that the window to win a title wit this group is the next 3 seasons.Thibs don't even play rookies so whoever supposed to replace butler wouldn't even be a contributor for some years
Jimmy didn't get in the rotation until injuries forced thibs to play him and he earned his spot.If the bulls lose him they fukked up cuz there's not one single player on this roster who can guard lebron and there is no viable replacement at all.Y'all think thibs can turn everyone into elite defenders when ronnie brewer and deng weren't even close to elite and neither is snell
