Man, Destiny might legit have one of the best stories in gaming period in recent history. The issue is how they tell it.
I understand that their current headcount doesn't next allow for a ton of cutscenes to be made, but shyt like the Banshee-Clovis Bray development deserved to be more than just some lines of text and a couple of lines of dialogue read while a character model goes through non specific idle animations. And the background on how this happened shouldn't be relegated to lore tabs of gear, and supplemental material for collectors editions.
It's like they (and the gaming industry as whole, if we're being honest) have great ideas, but forgot one if the basic rules of effective writing: SHOW, don't tell.
You picked a great time to jump in. While PvP isn't in an ideal place right now, it can still be plenty of fun. And Battlegrounds seems like they figured out how to make repeatable content fun. The fact that the challenge is sheer numbers instead of spamming bullet sponges and Champions makes the whole thing WAY more entertaining to me.
