You have to understand the NFL cares about public opinion and optics. This whole scandal is just as bad optic wise as the Ray Rice situation. Most people think Deshaun is guilty of something given the number of women accusing. Based off public pressure alone, the NFL will drop the hammer on him.
I think he gets an indefinite suspension with the chance to get back in the league in 2024 at the earliest. So a minimum 2 year ban similar to Trevor Bauer.
Yeah, "Protect the Shield" is the primary directive. And at this point, the minute he steps on a field, they're gonna have to hear about how they "don't care about their female fans," and they sure as shyt aren't tryna hear that. At this point, the only questions are how hard they hit Watson, and if the Texans fukk around and get the hammer dropped on themselves, too.
Apparently not according to the prosecutors, you should read up on it, a lot of sex trafficking accusations turn up to be fake، as the police like to label most sex work as sex trafficking whatever it's consensual or not.
John Oliver did a good episode on the topic
Yeah, if there's multiple workers involved, it's almost guaranteed to be a trafficking charge. Part of it is a complete misunderstanding of what consensual sex work is, and the other part is just engineering preferable outcomes for the prosecution. I imagine for the majority of people catching trafficking charges, they'll take the offer to plea down to solicitation/prostitution nine times out of ten, as opposed to fighting the charge on the grounds that it's bullshyt.
