On one hand, if I'm deshaun lawyer I'm arguing I already sat a year and would offer to pay back last year salary as a fine. On the other hand, the public not going for that and that's who the nfl has to appease. This might go down as the worst trade in nfl history given the context. They have a win-now roster with 1 qb that's gonna get suspended and the other that doesn't want to be there. Gave away 3 1st rounders and awarded a 230m contract to a guy that's probably missing a season minimum. Clevelands browns for you.

Goodell will be laying down the hammer, and I believe it will be an indefinite suspension like you mentioned earlier, or being on the "exempt list".

The Texans are licking their chops with Watson possibly missing the season and Mayfield wanting out. Those picks may be gold.

If it comes out that the Texans knew about these incidents and were helping to cover for Watson, Houston doesn‘t have to worry about Cleveland taking those picks back as the NFL will do it for them.

How would they not have known if a member of their team was giving him the NDA’s? They can try and use the argument that member and Watson went rogue, but that excuse isn’t going to fly with the NFL.
