And sure guys who play in highschool and college wanna make it to the pros to get paid, that's the dream.......but do u really think durin the god damn game they are thinking about making it to the pros or hurting themself? I doubt it...I don't care desean wuz worried about getting paid during the season its the mid game part that y'all should be lookin at em crazy for

I`m with ya, dude should just have sat out all together if he was that concerned with his money.

People act like these dudes will go hungry if they don't play a year.

:beli: Would the Eagles have gone broke if they had just paid him last year?

If you half ass it in college you won't make the pros which is the goal of the great majority of college players and thus you are wasting your time. Just like if you half-ass it in law school you won't reach your ultimate goal of being a lawyer and thus you are wasting your time.

I am not a propenent of half-assing per se. I am a propenent of fighting fire with fire and looking out for you own interests. Teams do all kinds of shady shyt to players in the best interest of the team and the bottom line financially. Forgive me if I'm not up in arms over a player doing what he thinks is best for himself and his family and their bottom line financially. It's funny how quick nikkas are to jump on the player but the org basically saying "fukk you" after the nikkas outperformed his contract by any fair measure is cool. :smh: As far as Pau goes I never called him soft and he was guaranteed like $60 mil over the next 3 seasons and the likelyhod that one play ended his career was pretty low. Meanwhile Desean was guaranteed 500k and was one hit away from retirement. Bad comapison.

If Desean can half azz in the pros and be productive enuff nikkas can get to a point in college where they know they can falf azz and still ensure draft position....pretty sure Andrew Luck,Cam Newton coulda halfed azz at a certain point during their seasons....point is as a competetor how can you during a game? Maybe id have to have millions on the line to understand:manny: I just don't see how contracts cross ur mind during a game of anybody with a competetive nature....I've had jobs which my livelyhood depended on me bein physical,I wuznt gon half azz it playing basketball for free with my boys.....And I've never came down on a player for holding out even when they do sign these contracts, bcuz I know these owners ain't shyt either and will trade or drop u with the quickness....its the thinking about it during the game shyt I can't wrap my head around:snoop:...during the actual game....not on the sidelines, not on Saturday night but during the game.

fukk it, get rid of all the contracts and let these nikkas play for free, they're lucky they're even given the opportunity to play the game they have such a PASSION for.

Truth be told is I didn't get the logic of signing him this year at all.

If they intended to sign him in the first place they should have just done it last year. I also don't run their salary cap though

Maybe the fact that, as you said, he was talented enough to still be productive enough while half-assing is the reason you can't understand him. Different people think different ways and I am not espousing half-assing. My only point has been that you can't just ignore the business aspect of the shyt because it's sports. Just because someone is passionate about something doesn't mean that money isn't gonna play a part. When is Jay's next mixtape comin out? When is Toni Morrison gonna release a free book? Waiting on Speilberg to release a movie for free and not take a salary. Best believe if they did it prolly wouldnt' be their best work. Part of the passion is the money otherwise nikkas wouldn't accept payment for their shyt.

Honeslty I don't either. They basically rewarded him for half-assing after refusing to reward him for going hard in years past. :what:

Yeah, I thought for sure they were going to look to trade him. He really is a guy you can get something for and you wouldn't feel too bad because he is a limited player

So why isn't Victor Cruz holding out?

I mean he shyt on anything DeSean ever did.

No one is saying they`d play for free, but you can just tell to some guys this is just a 9-5 and other guys actually love the game, you see this at all levels. Some kids in HS just play because it's the cool thing to do, some dudes in college play just because they got a scholarship, then there is other people are really passionate and love the game of football.

DeSean isn't one of those dudes who is passionate and loves the game.

Different strokes for different folks. Because one person chooses not to hold out doesnt mean the next man isnt justified with taking that route.

When a dude says he is going half way, you can call their passion to compete into question.

Look @ Osi last year, he was bytching about a deal all year and I don't think he was half assing it

Yeah ok but what is considered half-assing it? If dude wasnt running routes at all, then ok yeah thats a problem. But if by going half way he means he wasnt about to lay out for a ball over the middle and risk getting blown up then fukk yeah i can understand that. If he means he wasnt about to stay in bounds to pick up 2 extra yards and take a huge hit, then i can understand that too.

You cant compare a D-Lineman to a WR. A WR has a lot more say in preventing huge collisions than a lineman. Linemen dont even take hits like that, they get injured by being rolled up on in piles.

A defensive end has no leavage like a quarterback, a tope wide receiver, or cornerback does. Especially not a NY Giants DE. They stay loaded with talented DE's. Jason Pierre-Paul was in the wings waiting for Osi to hold out.
