I was gonna be that dude, played high school chess in elementary school, started up a company business, started using mad drugs to keep up after high school, broke up with my girl, joined the service, got back with my girl, now I'm back on track!

One of my boys. Smart and creative. Also was tall (6'4") and athletic. Played HS QB, and pitched. Had a legit cannon for an arm. Everyone liked him too.
But lazy as fukk. Always thought he'd accomplish all the shyt he wanted to just because of his natural talent. Never worked on himself to accomplish his goals. Just thought he'd achieve them just because.
Only think he's good at now is

What do they need to accomplish to be considered successful....Maybe they are not motivated to do anything....Some people don't really need money are status symbols like fancy cars\houses.....Maybe they content being idle right now.....

I have a cuzzo that was a musical prodigy. Taught him self bass, guitar, piano and drums at like 8 or 9.
He had an ear for music and could play like he was doing that shyt for YEARS. He knew all of those rock songs, played the hottest piano songs like it was nothing and killed the drums. He also was scary good at math(Was placed in the gifted class) too and taught himself how to skateboard and was doing all of those crazy flip tricks on a half pipe by his teen years. He also had a knack for putting together electronics like it was nothing. He was outgoing and played football too.
Fast forward to his parents. My aunt and uncle weren't very strict parents until later in their years then so he did whatever and started drinking at a VERY early age(I think like 12-13 tbh) and ended up rolling with the wrong crowd and got hooked on blow. He ended up dropping out of school and getting into trouble with the law. I think he's been to jail twice and he can't even drive because he is rarely sober and would have a hard time getting around without drinking.
He is almost 30 now and its sad to see all of that wasted potential. He eventually went back for his GED like last year and got that shyt like it was nothing but because of his criminal record, he really can't get hired anywhere because jobs in the area are already in short supply because the town isn't huge(Plus the recession) where he stay and nobody wants to hire him. Especially considering that not only is he a felon but a raging alcoholic who is violent often when drunk. He will be sober like 4 or 5 days out of the month IF that and the little under the table field labor jobs only usually goes to pay for more coke. (He owes me like 50-60 bucks anyways, he spent that money on blow)
He lives with his girlfriend now after he was with his parents until like 27-28ish but shyt is fukked up.
This dude could have been a black astronaut or something he was so ridiculously smart. He fukked up with the wrong crew, my aunt and uncle were too relaxed, and that potential went down the drain. He was definitely the smartest black guy I ever met and I'm in college now doing Chemistry.
I have a lot of other cousins too that were talented but went to jail or got caught up in drugs.
I think that like only 10% of the male cousins above 13 on my dad's side are criminal record free.(I have a shyt ton of relatives) Usually the older uncles and stuff didn't go to jail but were dirt broke growing up and are now doing low wage type joints.
That's why I want to make sure that I create a good family environment and start a business or something when I get older.
