Pistons are basically “Guangdong Southern” with Blake Griffin

They could use some of Dennis Smith highlight dunks if anything
His athleticism is more open court no defender than half court. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen him get blocked in the half court or miss a dunk. He’s no prime D Rose that’s for sure

There's really no downside to this- Quickley won't lose playing time and Rose is a great influence on young guys. He specifically went out of his way to bring Kylian Hayes under his wing this year. Quick and Rose can play together too.

This is a good move short and long term. Making the playoffs can be good for development- rumor has it Tyreese Halliburton specifically avoided working out for teams at the top of the draft so he'd have a chance to develop in a more winning environment. Also, in recent years having a top pick has mattered less- more players outside of the top 10 have potential to be stars. Quick went 23 and Knicks fans are emptying their balls over him.

What people don't seem to realize is DRose is still Mariano Rivera status. The man is a surgical quarterback. He's always had an amazing IQ on the court. I actually have a theory that if he never got injured his game right now at age 32 wouldn't look much different. I'm really excited to see him on a half decent team for the first time in a while- he's been balling the past couple years in the shadows. Also don't underestimate the Thibs stimulus.

Thibs knows he can't play Derrick more than 25 MPG, and if he's healthy in the playoffs- no team should be comfortable facing that :wow:

Y'all sound fukkin stupid

"They would rather lose with the youth than win with vets"

Like there weren't several games this year that the vets put the Knicks in a hole that "the youth" had to dig them out of

We wasn't winning with the "vets", thats the problem

I'm gonna give Thibs the benefit of the doubt for now, hopefully I see some Rose/IQ backcourt piff and Payton is waving towels

@knicksfan6 gon need the rock fam

But what does this mean for RJ Barrett? He’s a top 3 pick that will be a 3rd/4th option now

As far as Knicks players go:

Randle
Rose
Quickley
RJ

RJ will also become a better player playing with Rose. Rose is a 25 mpg player, Barret is gonna play the same exact amount. He guards 3s

I feel like Rose will definitely take over and dominate the ball. It’s basically his and Randle team now and I’m assuming they’re trying to make playoffs and not tank.

If Quickley is having a good night then RJ gonna ride the bench

Knicks need shooters/scores to compete.

Plus Rose has come out & said how much he liked playing/being in NY.

I like the move, Rose gets to play for Thibs again (even though I would've preferred him playing on a contender) & DSJ gets to hopefully get his career back on track with the Pistons during their rebuild.

I wonder if Detroit is actively shopping Griffin :patrice:

The pistons should bring Dennis off the bench for instant offense. Raise his value, then use him as trade bait in the future.
