I didn't state Thibodeau had anything to do with Rose's injury, only mentioning that a superstar talent probably wouldn't want to be in Chicago with Thibodeau based on his style of coaching, as he has somewhat built a reputation for running players into the ground playing them too many minutes in games.

Out for the season with a torn meniscus makes no sense, regardless of the repair that has to be done
A torn meniscus depending on tear can be easily repaired by trimming or removing completely or you can wait it out to heal itself(it's a slow process when you want to heal by itself since it doesn't have proper blood flow).

I'm sure Rose and his team weighted the cost and benefits of a quick fix vs longterm fix

I hope all is well for him because he's one of the few stars in the league thats a throwback who isn't a diva that doesn't complain, flop and bytch.

Unfortunately, he's gonna have to switch up his game to try to sustain a longer career. All those jerky movements in his crossovers could be what's hurting him.

I just don't wanna see another great player get robbed of its talents......Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, Brandon Roy :damn:

Yah you're right about poor blood flow but that's only to the inner 2/3 of the meniscus. The outer 1/3 still has good supply

After a repair he can start gradually increasing his workout tolerance a few weeks post-op

This shyt today makes no sense.

The owner came out and said he believes the team will make the fanbase proud like last season...

Sucks. I do think he'll return to all star form, but his days as the marquee guy may be finished. Don't think I've ever heard or seen anything to hint towards dude being the typical prima-donna superstar-athlete, so this is really unfortunate, but the guy has made a pretty penny and should be comfortable regardless of how this all plays out. That Chicago team is broken now, though. Really don't blame 'em - just lost your guy ten games into the season after missing him for over a season. They fought last year, but they had a light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. Really doubt they have anything left in the tank, but they're going to have to tough it out. Terrible luck, and I really don't envy the suits in the front office jobs right now.
