That's his fault for thinking NYC is just Manhattan. If I'm gonna be somewhere for the next 5+ years of my life I better do my research because I also have to live in that area and get acclimated. D-Will just heard prerecorded Brook-Lyn chants and saw NYC skyline pictures and $100 mil and decided to ask questions later. No sympathy from me.

I experienced this hardcore in my company. One line manager I had when I switched departments was from Boston originally. And she stayed keeping it funky. She would tell me what needed to be done, what trainings I needed, whatever. No sugarcoating, no fluffing it up to look pretty. It was what it was...
And I loved it. To this day I say she was one of the best managers I've ever had. But a lot of people from around here couldn't deal with her. They would hit me with "Oh you report to Pamela? I feel sorry for you", then I'd be like 
"I'm cool with her, I like her" and then they would be like 
. She even told me that in one meeting, like "you know a lot of people here don't like me... but I don't care"... After I moved here from NY, I had managers that wouldn't tell me what I needed to know, which made ZERO sense to me. So when I linked up with old girl, I was like

Yeah a couple of blacks got killed/abused in BK because of race, whether it was that gay dude in Williamsburg in 01/2014, or Yusuf Hawkins in 89. There are sundown towns out here in NY.
