That's the one thing I couldn't stand about the Midwest when I visited, they are fake nice. Been to Iowa, Minneapolis, Chicago, Nebraska... they all got that fake nice shyt down to a tee
And on several occasions, I would ALWAYS hear out they mouth, literally like "I'm a nice person. Midwest people are nice aren't they?"
Only place that acted real was Ohio, maybe because they are closer to the east coast

The lack of black people is expected. The further west you go you should be expecting that. I've been to Salt Lake on business plenty of times and it's the cleanest city I've ever been. Nothing boring about it when it comes to potentially raising a family. You NY nikkas are the only people who think staying out till 4 am at 39 years old is appealing
