so is this a group? dept of treasury sounds like a group but it was only one nikka rapping. Who is the nikka rapping? is that art? I always imagined him as a white nerd type dude... Something similar to my avi. So wait your black, that's your pic? Thats fukking crazy. U dont look like u type if that makes sense.
The song is wack, but it's not really wack, its just different. Maybe u just hearing music on another plane, i try to give everybody the space to see what they trying to convey instead of just criticizing cuz it sounds unfamiliar. Many steps to rap my friend. The first essential is people getting used to ur voice. If you don't have a great voice it takes longer to make an impact. Thats fine tho... But A great voice > EVERYTHING really. So you should work on conveying ur words more and trying to find a cadence that suits your image.
A great emcee, will not only paint a picture thru words, he will impose his world on u thru his voice. Prodigy is one name that comes to mind, just from him going "I got you stuck off the realness..." the aura is already in you. He's got you
that fast. It's that voice. You feel Queens, you can practically smell the 40's and blunt guts and piss on the project steps.
You... not so much, i couldnt see what you were going for, or who you were. Just sounded like some nikka trying to rap honestly. No shots... I couldnt tell what hood u was from, what type of clothes u wear, whats ur outlook on life... what class of bytches you fukk...nothin. Just words... an emcee needs a philosophy and a voice and a sound. Ironically, Rick Ross has all those things. The lyrics are the last thing that connect... It's music not spoken word.
Young Thug is a better lyricist than Ras Kass, but Ras Kass is a better "rapper" in terms of kicking knowledge and shyt... I love both... But thing is, Thug paints a more exciting picture and has a better energy in his music that why it connects with a larger audience. But Andre/Eminem nikkas like that showed you can be multisyllabic/complex and still have commercial success... with the right MESSAGE... so just work on what you trying to convey, cause that trumps all. When you paint that right picture you go from being a surrealist to being DALI. Feel me... but whatever nikka, step yo shyt up...
Things to think about...
Where would this ideally be played?
What would this sound like if you did it at a small venue vs a big venue... imagine both scenarios.
Who is your audience? Who has this uploaded in there iphone right now? If it was to blow, what audience would be taking to it?
White Black? U kinda sound like maybe u can get that niche Immortal Technique market, thats pretty good he eats. But the drill kids in The Chi don't want to hear this mess... be honest with urself before anything.
I'm rambling, but I just felt the need to give u more than a smiley or some hate. Regardless of whatever this music is a part of your being/soul/heart and u put time into creating it, crafting, so in thanks for you sharing yourself with us. I gave a detailed opinion.
Good luck tho, whatever u end up doing go hard and never look back. Dont make sense to do this music thing Half way, either your in or your out.
just my two pennies blood.
