If it ever did come to actual conflict between the powers, MAD is the end result. Instead though, you end up with little proxie conflicts, and wisely so. Having said that, I love these articles that make China seem like they have the military might they might have in 50 years. Obama is in an Alaska. The Chinese navy decide to visit the Bering Sea in international waters when he happens to be there. They could have gone up there any other time. Nothing was stopping them. Wide open. The timing of their navy being up there at the same time Obama is there, it's not a coincidence.
They wouldn't have the balls to go into US waters though. That's the equivalent of trying to give a honey badger a rim job.
