No one needs to. Just like, respectfully, ppl don’t need to watch his films.

Now, we do watch Denzel cuz he’s a damn legend who is great at what he does.

Kubrick has that status too. :manny:

It’s not a big deal, I’m just saying. It’s like not being a fan of Tarantino, but at this point his movies be on regular cable when you’re flipping through so you’re bound to catch one. :yeshrug:
Nah breh... And it's not to offend you. I mean I'm sure he's seen The Shining. But these other ones you named would take an actual movie buff to sit down and watch. Most people you know who have seen these, are movie buffs.

The thing everyone is missing is Denzel is saying he don't really watch movies like that. He wasn't really a fan of movies or acting until later in life, and even then, he still wasn't watching movies like that

Seems odd to be an actor and not a fan of films.

I don't know too many people that worked in an industry for 40 years but don't really know anything about it.

like having a nurse who has never gotten a doctors checkup,

or a mechanic who has never driven a car. I guess you can still be good at your job without the other, but seems very unlikely. I would assume both were lying if they told me that. And that what i assume Denzel was doing here too. lying

he doesn't even have to be a fan of films, i would assume that at the very least, he would research a director who offered him a role in something he was considering, and maybe check out some of their work to be sure he is a good fit.
It's a little different. Here's a perfect one... Most video game creators suck at video games and don't play them. They just know how to program. Most of the mechanics working on high end cars, nascar, and shyt like that, don't ever buy or drive them. They just know how to fix them. Floyd Mayweather doesn't watch boxing film. His coaches do and he just listens to them and goes off instinct.

You don't need to experience movies or even like them to be a great actor. Acting is a job. You can learn how other actors do it and take from them..... But you don't have to do that to have the ability to act like someone else

That's what I can believe and then everything else makes perfect sense. Seems y'all don't believe he's not a movie buff.. I don't know too many casual movie watchers who seen the three films you na

Seems like an easy way to cast yourself into a flop. Reminds of me of the cast of Madam Web. All of the main actors thought they were getting parts in the MCU, and thought they were about join a major franchise. didn't understand sony was its own thing. and Madam Webb has no built in audience like spiderman does.

I bet he based his black panther 3 decision entirely on the success chadwick had back in 2018. and has no idea that he's going to be acting opposite Shuri now and do at best 600 million on that next film and have it called a flop because the second film generated zero hype for another sequel.

If you looked at ALL of Denzel's movies, you'd see this theory checks out very well

For long time it didn't matter because he didn't do sequels. Gladiator and BP3 the first sequels he just hopped into.
Check those threads and tell me if it is checking out.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
Aint no way he hasn’t watched A Clockwork Orange, 2001 or even Eyes Wide Shut at least once.

He just wanted to shut this dude up :mjlol:
I saw a quote one time (and idk if it was really said or not) where someone once asked Malcolm McDowell what his favorite Kubrick film was besides A Clockwork Orange (which he starred in), he said, "Well, A Clockwork Orange, obviously—I haven't seen the others, but at least this one pays me to remember it!"
