With all the fat contracts being fed to mediocre players over the years, I can't completely fault dude for wanting to get a huge bag of 100 mill plus. But damn does this bet on himself look like a failure. If he didn't play like ass during the playoffs and really showed something while Davis went down, maybe we would be having a different conversation.

But maybe he can ball out in Boston and get back to it:yeshrug:

Plus we don’t know the full details of the 84M offer. Yeah it was dumb to turn down, but it could’ve been one of those 3rd year partial guarantee 4th year team option contracts. We really don’t know.

Dude bet on himself twice. He had the chance to stay in LA making 20+ mil for a set amount of years. Now he’s only making 5 in Boston….. Boston is ok in the summer. Winter time :camby:

Good pickup at that price for the Celtics. When he's on the floor, he has no choice but to ball out if he wants to see a big contract in the future, so he should be motivated.

No he won’t. All he has to do is ball out in Boston as starting PG and he’ll get the bag back.
Stop…

When have you ever seen a guy sign for this kinda money than get a bag??

I can’t remember.. He more than likely will never get a contract like what the Lakers offered again..

He might be on some journeymen Jeff Green, Matt Barnes shyt from now on

This is a unique situation though. I can’t remember someone in his position turning down that bag then having a bad series. Barring injury, if he returns back to OKC form and demonstrates himself as a starter he’ll get the bag back. He’s still under 30.

You really think if he averages 18-20 ppg on efficient stat line and plays key role in Boston playoff run he’s not getting a $80M+ bag? I disagree.

better man than me I guess, I couldnt look my momma in the face and told her I declined generational wealth for 4 years of work

its not like its 15 million or something where after taxes and a nice house, you gotta still budget (somewhat) in california

84 million :francis: and by 31 could get another 80-100 million contract if he really believes in himself :francis: could play it smart and grind over the next 10 years to 200+ million

i must be missing something
