I find these threads so funny because you rarely hear actual policy talk. It's all about the image of the people being discussed. Can someone answer if Pritzker has had good policies for the people of Illinois? I don't care if he is a billionaire or has said nice things about Israel. Has he been someone who has served his people the right way and not just for the interest of big business.

It is quite clear what Americans are responding to. We need a leftist version of that. Be it Walz, Pritzker, etc. We need a white dude who is willing to get in Trump’s ass and tell the American ppl what it is and what it’s gon be. These ppl respond to that shyt.

Imagine Pritzker or Walz on stage with Trump during a debate! That’s wtf these cacs need to see to vote for a Dem. This is where we are. The sooner the Dems fuller understand the public the better our chances will be.

Even if it’s a slight margin; you see someone like Trump win the election?? You need your own version of that to beat him.

This has been my exact stance since November.

The only real chance the Dems have is to run an economically left-wing version of Trump who isn't afraid to "tell it like it is" ala Bernie Sanders, but someone younger.

Thing is, a presidential candidate of this nature will have two massive hurdles to climb:

1. Opposition from moderate dems who cozy up to wall street and wealthy donors (which would make it hard to push for left-wing economic reforms)

2. Opposition from dumb, chronically online "leftists" who don't understand the importance of optics and who do little more than confirm right-wing stereotypes about people who are socially progressive.

The former camp would make it a challenge to push for things like universal healthcare, free state college, higher taxes on the rich, etc, while the latter camp would possibly put off potential voters and derail the campaign's momentum by constantly trying to shoehorn in controversial issues like trans kids or some other shyt that 90% of people don't really care about but would serve as red meat for conservatives to fear monger with to their voters.

Whoever the next Dem presidential candidate is, they need to run hard to the left economically, not be afraid to talk shyt, and have a blue collar "everyman" vibe, be they man or woman.

If the DNC keeps churning out these hacks who sound like dweebs, act timid, and look like somebody that was plucked from a corporate board room, we might as well prepare ourselves for Vance 2028, assuming Trump doesn't manage to scheme his way into a third term by then.

In 2007, Pritzker and his wife bought a second mansion next to the one they live in on Chicago's Astor Street, for $3.7 million. As The Chicago Sun-Times reported, that mansion remained vacant and was allowed to fall into disrepair.

And then in October 2015, according to a report by Cook County Inspector General Patrick Blanchard, the Pritzkers had five toilets removed from the second house so that it would be classified as "uninhabitable" in a property tax appeal filed by the Pritzkers. Cook County assesses vacant properties at 10 percent of the market value.

The toilets were removed shortly before the affidavits in the property tax appeal were submitted. The county assessor's office "lowered the 6,378-square-foot mansion's assessed value from $6.3 million to about $1.1 million," The Chicago Tribune reports.

As a result, the inspector general writes, "the County ultimately fell victim to a scheme to defraud ... which resulted in the property owner ultimately receiving property tax refunds totaling $132,747.18 for the years 2012, 2013 and 2014, as well as additional tax savings of $198,684.85 for the years 2015 and 2016."
