In a fair election, Newsome would absolutely stand a chance. He is big viewer of Fox News so he knows and understands arguments from the right, he is also a pretty good debater and good at memorizing facts/figures (because of his dyslexia).

The problem is two-fold:

• Republicans have effectively turned California in to a national parody, so they would manage to make the whole election a referendum on the State
• Americans don't know anything and lack curiousity, therefore they do not find facts/figures to be persuasive.

- their taxes
- companies that leave
- cost of living

Would Smoke his ass. And no amount of good stories would change it

IIRC, cenk hoeing him for not calling out Republicans & corporate dems when it came to taking corporate money. To which he said "that's not the way to work" Right then and there I lost respect for Ro no balls, no spine.

What people don't seem to understand in politics is one undeniable fact.

When one party comes up with absolutely zero solutions to the problem that's affecting people on a day-by-day basis they typically lose power.

When the Republican Party decided to do absolutely nothing on health care that's how we got Obamacare.

When the Democratic Party did absolutely nothing with the border over Joe's term and inflation that's why you got the Republicans that swept into power.

Yes the Republican Party tanked a border bill after 2 years that Joe was in office he should have made it a priority immediately.

I mean, what's even the point? Even if there's a blue wave in 2026 and/or 2028, the idiots in this country will give Republicans back power sooner rather than later.

This is just another reason why I've become jaded with politics. I'm starting to view it as near pointless (at least federally) because of the huge amount of misinformation out there (primarily due to Fox News and social media) and also the education gap.

Also from a federal standpoint, the way the system is setup there can’t be drastic change in any direction. We will probably never see 1 party with 60 senate again

-defund the police
- grab a dashiki to show solidarity
- rock a kufi
- make gender issues always in his press conferences

Also because his daddy gives him state wide name recognition

But America obviously wants whiteness no matter how many felonies you got so maybe he and his Lilly white family got next in 2028

It's very sad to see someone who seems to be as civically engaged as you feeling so hopeless, and I can't blame you.

And I know its easy for me to say the below, so maybe take with a grain of salt:

Just know that there are people who draw inspiration from the efforts that you are putting in to the real world. You may never know who you've inspired, or you may even find out years down the line and be surprised. But there is someone(s) in the real world who has watched you and has either become, or is thinking of becoming, more engaged in politics because of it. You may live your life without knowing what good you've inspired in the world, but the good will have been inspired nevertheless.

Our democracy needs the engagement of citizens like yourself to remain healthy and vibrant. And when it's sick, it needs citizens like you to restore it to it's former self.

So thank you for everything you've already done, and I hope you know that we need you in the game to continue inspiring us.
