Reminds me more of how I felt when I saw Shaq or Penny play live. I was in awe seeing that shyt in person.
I don’t think we’ll see somebody that makes us feel like when we saw MJ hoop, in our lifetime. The closest hype I can think of was Lebron initially coming out of HS. That was some “travel the world to this momentous event of a person” hype. I don’t feel like the career lived up to legend and mystique of MJ’s, but I think Lebron cemented himself up there with Other greats. The hype around MJ and the story that followed him was like a religious fervor.
This isn’t even the “between shoe deal, fighting a rape case, needing to prove he can be great without Shaq” Kobe hype. That shyt was visual magic.
If Giannis repeats, the bucks can get him an even more dominant supporting cast, and the stars align to make it look like he’s pulling off the impossible through sheer force of will then the sky is the limit.
He got my respect last season, he doesn’t have to win anymore chips to be great in my own eyes.
It could also be possible that we’re so spoiled by being able to follow these players 24/7 that the potential mystique is ruined for us.
I don’t get into the “X is greater than Y” arguments. I just enjoy the experience of watching them all hoop, especially the players hat seem to be able to feel everything going on around the court like Chris Paul, Bron, etc.
Bryn Forbes is much worse.
The fact that Allen is coming off the bench and putting up numbers in these four games has been more of a contribution than Forbes entire year in Milwaukee.
