and foreign legion of soldiers from all Nato countries, why would anything Russia could take over the second biggest country in Europe in a week

America took over and forced the Taliban leadership to flee within a month. 8 months later and Ukraine are launching successful counter attacks.

And the weapons didn't really start arriving in sizeable quantities until like May/June and took weeks to reach and be integrated into the front line. By that time Russia had already lost the first phase of the war and failed in its initial objective to capture and take over Kiev and the Ukrainian government and had to limit its goal to the East. And Ukraine wouldn't have achieved the support that it did kif it hadn't shown successful resistance.
