Barrett game is outdated and inherently broken.

Has the look, says all the right things, and puts up the box score numbers so fans are smitten.

Knicks FO and fans unwavering loyalty to RJ will turn out to be a mistake :francis:

IQ hasn't shot over 40% because he doesn't get a lot of attempts at the rim. The gift and the curse of IQ's game is that he can make those bad shots he takes and his range always has to be accounted for make or miss and it opens up the floor for others. A lot of our offensive barrages and most exciting runs are fueled by Quickley with his ability to score in bunches. Even without shooting 40% from the floor he is more impactful and more efficient than RJ because of self created offense, shooting range, knockdown at the line and is a rock solid defender.

IQ is better than Barrett the eye test say it and so do the analytics if IQ was given RJ's leash he'd put up a smooth 18/5/5 at least.

I don't expect that to be the popular opinion especially when RJ is this bluechip Team Canada, Montverde, Duke guy with prototype wing size.
its actually not. the way he's used is outdated and inherently broken.
the mother fukker is top 10 in fast break points a game while the knicks are bottom 3 in pace the last 3 years. literally everyone else in the top 10 is part of a high pace team besides him.
His ability to constantly get 2 feet in the paint no matter what type of dog shyt spacing we have is something we dont have on this roster...not until brunson got here, or donovan in the future.
no matter how rudimentary you view his handle or skillset (which still needs work) he's bordering on elite in strictly driving to the rim. his next step is not missing the bunnies and getting better touch....with his work ethic I have little doubt in. he's just never going to be as flashy as you want him to be and no fault of his own....your expectations are superstar or bust.
iq has high ceiling plays and very low lows from a consistent decision making stand point. if iq was as good as you want him to be right now. donovan would be a knick....these guys are not at the level you want them to be. development isnt linear. if you're telling me what you saw from rj from january 1st to the end of the season wasnt a jump I have no idea what to say to you.
rj isnt explosive enough to score over the help defense(only the elite athletes and players can like donovan)....what he is good at is beating one guy and finishing evident by his transition ability................now apply multiple players on the court you have to respect on the court with rj attacking closeouts....instead of being the guy initiating pick and roll into pre-set rotations with guys helping off the corner that no one respects from 3 and centers over committing to the drive.
i have the utmost faith rj will grow this season. If donovan is here the best outcome for iq is a back up point guard...if he even gets that opportunity with thibs. your way to high on unrealistic outcomes and way too low on things that we've actually seen with our own eyes
rj the only player to drop 40 on the heat this year...but you want to turn around and call him a bum. aight man

Grimes is older than Barrett by a month :skip: and NBA experience is a more valuable indicator coming into year 4 if this guy doesn't break out this is who he is...

Grimes is the one in only his second season whose the poster that said H20 should give him some post up lessons :ehh:
That was me. I see it in his game where he could be a more explosive H20 if he has the right work ethic (which I think he does)

Ainge is simply trying to fukk us like he fukked Minnesota and Leon isn't having it you're reading too deeply into it.

His game is broken transition is one of the things he is good at and its a point of emphasis for him because his game is so limited. But his game is absoutely broken when you can't handle, you can't shoot, and you can't finish your game is broken, this is the stuff that makes him one of the most inefficent players in the game. We can talk all day about the team but ultimately he has big time holes in his game.

All I can say is it's a big year for him coming up.

minuscule sample sizes. this whole take is ass.
you ask grimes to do what rj has had to do for 36 minutes a night you wouldnt have this take at all
grimes doesnt drive to the rim vs nba level competition cause he doesnt have the strength nor bounce to finish consistently. he'd put up them up ugly ass floaters and layups like he did vs tthe blazers in the summer league. I SAW it happen. the reason his development stifled and he had to transfer to houston and play 3 years in college was cause he tried to play the dominant on ball game and he didnt have the physical tools for it. but cause he hit some reverse layups vs dudes that wont see an nba minute, he's better than rj barrett. now tie this in to the fact we had horrendous spacing AND pacing....I dont see what you see man. comparing him to klay is nasty work and you should be ashamed of yourself.

gross ass hyperbole. you'd pray to god he had a 17/5/3 season on 40 percent shooting from 3....you know the type of shyt rj already has done at this level along with good defense 2 years ago...when grimes was in his first year transfered to houston :mjlol:

Grimes is explosive bro. He's just not a one foot leaper but that can be worked on

Yeah I peeped that during summer league. Breh is gonna be a good 3 and d guy but he definitely doesn't have it in him to be a number 1 option. He has a good enough handle to attack close outs but he can't finish. If defenses game planned against Grimes like a #1 I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem taking him out of a game.

Even if Barrett doesn't pan out he at least has a shot at being a #1 or #2 guy because he can create for himself, get to the rim and draw fouls. Barrett has a lower floor than Grimes for sure, but he has a higher ceiling also.

IQ reminds me of players like Billups, Chalmers, Lou Will

Barrett just remind me of a shorter Julius :scust:
How old are you?

You consistently say the dumbest shyt but with utmost confidence.
