These descending deals are great. The deals that were acquired in the draft all have descending protections. So it's possible that the Knicks are sitting on cheap expiring contracts for quality starters while they have two or three first-round picks about to convey. The package for a star might be waiting for a year or a two.

Yeah trading for a star could be the purpose. Another more mundane reason is that format makes their salaries cost efficient when it’s time to pay IQ, Obi, Grimes, RJ, and Reddish, when it’s their turn to get paid.

Good cap management (due to curry being a late bloomer) led to the KD warriors…. A lot of people forget that
