Everyone tampers and everyone is aware of it, but you got to at least keep up the appearances.

You already have GM's son as his agent so the least you can have them do is show up to a fukking meeting with Mavs. Purely so Cuban doesn't look like a bytch by having his four year player not even look at a contract offer :hubie:
Why does a player have to take meetings if they know they don’t want to come back? Did pj tucker take meetings with the Heat? Did Lonnie walker take meetings with the spurs?

It's not even close to being the same situations considering that in the case of Brunson, the contract and dollar amount was already leaked out well beforehand :mjlol:

Even PJ would tell you that he was expecting a two year deal not three that ended up materializing once he opted out of the deal.

As @nyknick said, Brunson and his camp should have taken that meeting even if they weren't going to take the Mavericks offer as you do that to prevent tampering allegations. That isn't new as players and even coaches taking meetings with other teams all the time knowing that they aren't going to accept them so that there are now rumblings of tampering.

The Knicks got sloppy with it and spinning it isn't going to change that narrative.
Your basing this on shams ?

The amount was wrong it’s not 110 , it’s 104 with a player option for the 4th year .

That was obviously intentional to try and reduce the talk of tampering and it well reported that Brunson and his camp turned down the meeting with Dallas. I'm not making that up out of thin air.

Completely different situations.

Lonnie Walker asked Spurs to rescind qualifying offer so he could sign with Lakers. Spurs are in a full rebuild and are not even that high on Lonnie so they let him go. I'm not too familiar with PJ's situation but I do know he's 37 years old and has been on 3 teams in last 3 years.

If Mark Cuban's son was RJ Barret's agent and they pulled the same shyt going the other way you better believe Knicks wouldn't just release a statement wishing everybody luck.

As opposed to lets say Grimes asking Knicks to rescind a QO or Taj/Nerlens going to a different team at 12:01AM first night of free agency.

If the Knicks low balled RJ a year prior they’d have nobody to blame but themselves. They gambled and lost. Stop crying. They had all season to get in front of this but they thought with their wallets hoping a playoff series would bring his price down and it didn’t. bytching about something everyone does is bush-league.

Mavs did what they did fukk em, but this is not about what they did. This is about Knicks moving sloppy.

But I'm happy with this (as long as we don't lose picks) because it means we're finally operating like a modern organization. We've been moving in free agency like it's still 90s/00s. We've been waiting for free agency to start to contact star free agents, meanwhile they have already been negotiating with other teams through back channels for months.

We were asking KD to have injury clauses and shyt meanwhile other teams were probably having power point presentation about locations they have condos to fly out hoes for them:russ:

This is like our first time getting p*ssy, all nervous and sloppy. So I'll give them a pass for this one :heh:

We weren’t though. We signed Randle, Burks and Nerlens less than an hour into free agency back in ‘19. Just as the news hit that KD didn’t want to come to us. That wasn’t tampering? We knew for over a week that we lost KD and pivoted to plan B. All before the free agency period began. Nobody cried. Mavs are being bytches and we should fight this now before this becomes precedent. This isn’t going to be the last player Leon has a connection with.

Hell yeah we tampered :pachaha:

But what team doesn’t
Bulls got a 2nd round pick taken away because Shams announced at 6PM EST on the dot that we signed Lonzo. We were even trying to swap Lauri for Zo at the trade deadline so it was clear we were going to target him.

Shams announced the Brunson singing like 45 minutes before the start :mjlol:
