Breh you were just complaining they aren't aggressive enough. Breaking bread is being aggressive, overpaying with the chance he can live up to or outplay is contract is taking a calculated risk. Maybe we get saddled with a bad contract and he flops but we gotta pay to play right? We HAVE been too tepid up until now, but you're not just conjuring up a good move out of nowhere, you're sacrificing something along the way and no one wants our players; GM's ain't jumping out of their seats to watch RJ crash into the paint and shyt.

Be real, you're not mad at the Knicks not being aggressive, you're just mad they can't fleece anybody lol. Which is fine, but the Billy Kings of the NBA are gone for the most part.
I think a good aggressive move would be trading up for Ivey or going hard after Dejounte.

When have the Knicks done something like that?

Next good aggressive move would be moving Randle regardless of the return. The man simply cannot be on the squad.

Going for Brunson is just stupid he addresses some of our weaknesses but ultimately there’s fit issues if the two lefty bully ballers remain.

Besides Jalen is in the prime of his career we are nowhere near a championship.

C Robinson
F Toppin
F Barrett
G Grimes
G Murray

This is a team worth watching that can lock up and get out in transition.

All we’ll need is Toppin and Barrett to be able to knock down catch and shoot shots at a good clip and my vision for Grimes is J.J. Redikk Jr. with defense.

D-Rose and Quick giving us bench spark.

:blessed:

He’s 2 weeks older than Murray.
Yeah. But Dejounte isn’t a lefty and doesn’t bully ball and is 6’5.

Brunson is all about midrange and getting into floater range and posting guys up.

He’s also playing with Doncic which means he’ll be in contention. The Spurs are rebuilding.

Nah, not quite.

My issue with the front office is not being willing to do what it takes to get their guy, or to go after guys with elite potential if they're within reach. I've gone back as far as Steph Curry and as recent as LaMelo on that, and it's primarily an issue I have with their draft record, well before this regime.

Then when they finally do lock in, they lock in on bullshyt that's rarely based on making a championship team, but relationships. Brunson in this case. Brunson in a vaccum isn't an issue to me, Brunson in the context of this team and this roster however is fukking dumb.

As for fleecing, nah, for me, it's quite the opposite - if it's the guy I think will change my franchise, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get them, even if the perception is that I got fleeced. Pride is the downfall of this front office to me.

he aint getting to the rim on the knicks like that when all we do is run lineups with rim runners cause this bum ass coach doesnt believe in small ball or spacing

part of the whole reason he was effective in iso while being 6'0 was cause they stayed playing with a stretch 5.
brunson tryna attack the paint and mitchell and (god forbid) julius man coming down to help and block that boys shots.

FACTUAL.

They draft Toppin with the intention to replace Randle after a trash first hear, but then Randle has an All Star year right as he's good to re-up and now they think it'll look bad if they don't resign him, even if they knew the odds of him having a repeat performance is slim. Then he plays like trash, actively goes after fans, and now they're locked in on the guy they had their doubts about off rip for another however many years and are stuck somewhere between try to compete for the playoffs and rebuild.

Just rebuild. Move him for whatever, just do it. Stop being bytch made because of perception and just do it.

You want Ivey? Do it. Meet the ask if he's worth it. But instead we like to sit back like our assets are too good for the asking price. We had one good season with no crowd for 90% of it. Stop acting like anyone is untouchable and go after your guy if you think he's worth it. Stop going after expensive, mid talent and get talent on their way into the league.

I rather flop on cost controlled 4 years than 4 years at 1/4 of my cap space.

It takes two to make trades happen. The Murray rumor includes that they want a Holiday return...that's like five picks. Teams are saying the Kings asking price is crazy too. The hope's gotta be that these team's come down from the ridiculous ask and make it reasonable. Sometimes they do and sometimes their GM is on some Danny Ainge "that ridiculous ask is as good as you'll get from me" tip.

Sometimes the problem isn't OUR front office is what I'm getting at. Sometimes teams just don't really want to trade unless they're given an offer they can't refuse. I'd bet the Murray rumor falls into that spot. I'm thinking the Kings ones might not, but our competition is in better position since their picks are a lot closer to 4.

@storyteller Sorry bro, but I can't let them off the hook with that it takes two shyt any more.

There are teams that are coupling picks to move up and there are teams coupling picks to move down; which one have we been?

There are teams coupling draft picks to make moves to improve the team, and then there's us coupling a draft pick to get a guy the collective clearly didn't agree upon in Reddish, highlighting a clear lack of synergy between the 5 guys in the room with Leon and the head coach.

We were/have been top 3 in total draft picks over like 5 years and what do we really have to show for it? Hope in Obi, IQ and Grimes? Guys that would have been locked to the bench behind vets if not for injuries and COVID because we hired a coach that is the antithesis of youth development? We're not using the capital we have well and our answer is let's hope teams come down off their "ridiculous" asks? Nah.

We're hoping some other teams will bail us out and give us a Canal street prices in Fifth Ave storefronts. It's nonsense. Why shouldn't a team that's 7 spots ahead of us and in position to draft someone we want desperately beat us in the head with their ask? We gotta pay the premium. Premium for poor decisions, for poor use of assets, premium for signing vets and creating unnecessary redundancies that our youth should be getting their lumps in just to try to win as many games as possible in a lost season, just to be on the back end of a mid draft class so we can say "Well, we tried." And then we're in the lotto with a high pick, we can't move up, because "the cost is too high", and we can't possibly move all these great assets we're storing for a rainy day, so what can they say again? "Well, we tried."

We gotta stop giving these dudes outs for poor decisions. All they've done is save Dolan money with this selling back, draft and stash, kick the can down the road shyt. Always plan B and C instead of A. And in that they've gotten manageable contracts and as such, have manageable talent, that isn't getting us to the playoffs or the top 3 of a class. That's not on any other front office but our own. :yeshrug:
