If the concept of not paying Ayton is to avoid paying the luxury tax, Phoenix won't take Randle and Robinson (and in doing so, the trade becomes illegal without Phoenix adding in a bunch of salary)

My draft and stash options list after looking at the international players:
Khalifa Diop - Played in a lesser league, but size and athleticism is really impressive. He's a project, but the type of swing for the fences that's worth it.

Luke Travers - Good size and has some of that Aussie all-around sharpness. He's like 6'7 with really nice vision and plays smart. Already got three years in the Autralian league and his growth curve has been impressive. His jumper developing could turn him into a really solid complimentary guy.

Ziga Samar - 6'6 true point guard that shot 41% from three in the second-best league on the planet. He put up 8,5,3 in 20 mins on good efficiency with pretty solid defense. He kinda reminds of Rokas in that he's not an eye-popping athlete but plays faster and smarter than his athleticism implies. I don't get why some other PG prospects are above him...particularly Hugo Besson.

Matteo Spagnolo - 6'4 point guard with a really fun game to watch. He switched from the ACB to Italian league and looked better against the lesser competition. Kid can shoot and has a flashy ball-handling and passing style. But that also meant he gets out of control and turns over the rock. I don't think that 12,3,3 in the Italian league is as impressive as Samar's 8,5,3 in the ACB but the tape is super fun and mock drafts have him more likely to be picked.

Gabriele Procida - I'm reluctant to mention him because I think he'll get drafted too high for us to chase. He's surprisingly athletic, plays tough, and his jumper is aesthetically awesome. He's probably the best prospect of this list, but that's also why we probably won't be able to just buy a second-round pick to stash him. He and Spagnolo had me watching Italian league ball for what feels like the first time.
If y'all wanna stash someone, stash either Yannick Nzosa or Ibou Badji.

I got annoyed at the reports yesterday and was complaining about how obvious the BS was. I forget who was saying how coveted he was and that there might be a bidding war with the Knicks and wizards offering 11 and 10 respectively.

Wasn’t it Givony? It was someone who normally is draft focused talking about trades.

Yannick was more polished than I'd thought. Badji, I'm not sold on. He's RAW raw. I prefer Diop to 'em because he seems more naturally prone to stop for a pick and pop. I've been pining for a pick-and-pop C for two years and it doesn't look like we're getting one any other way then drafting and developing a guy.

Portland just traded their 2025 first for Jerami Grant. Randle ain’t going anywhere. :mjcry:

Fred Katz from the Athletic had a live chat today and I asked him why we should believe the smoke from the front office given how risk averse they have been and his response, essentially, was that there is no risk in having a conversation and the Knicks have plenty of conversations to canvass the trade market but ultimately determine deals aren't worth it and that's why they're not making moves.

Moves like this make it very difficult for me to believe the Knicks front office is really out there making calls like this.

Jeremi Grant got moved for a pick 3 years away, that's coming from Milwaukee, who is guaranteed to be a title contender over these next 3 years barring injury?

But we can't make moves? I'm to believe that front office after front office, for the better part of the 20 years, the league just puts a premium on anything Knicks and make it impossible to trade because they're always trying to fukk the Knicks, but a trade like that gets done?

Come on man. :comeon:

This front office really ain't about shyt bruh.
