I think more that expectation has been replaced with women paying for handy men. Less men than before know how to fix things around the house.

My dad didnt repair ish and performed no male chores like like cutting grass etc...my mpm was still expected to perform her duty as a wife

Education and achievement are cool, but not interesting.
