i work with mentally challenged kids and its really a sad situation, i mean u have kids that are 10-13 who dont even know how to make a bed or fold laundry or even shower the proper way :snoop:

it seems like the parents just dont care to take care of them in some cases or most parents just did all types of drugs while they were pregnant with them, its very sad in some cases and some of these kids will be in the system and going from different placement to placement for the rest of there lives.

Correct. They don't care. Most things can be taught. If having kids with disabilities teaches you anything, it better be patience.

I have cerebral palsy. I am communicating fine with you now, am I not?

Damn breh. I'm sorry about your condition. But how serious is your case of cerebal palsy? The kid I saw the othe day was unable to talk or walk and was confined to a special wheelchair. I imagine that there are various levels to cerbal palsy :ld:

You're right. All I'm saying is just because someone appears a certain way, it doesn't mean they are unhappy. They are not "confined" to a wheelchair, though they are of great assistance. And, although it appears as if they can't talk, they most certainly can.

And no need for sorries.

I would not be able to handle a severely disabled child. Better to admit it now...

I would take care of my child, I know plenty of kids with CP that are very happy. They deserve a chance!

It's probably better to admit that than to cloak it under saving the child a life of pain.

Right. Its disingenuous. Just admit that you don't want to spend the rest of your life dealing with the child's issues. Nothing wrong with admitting you're selfish..
