I was at the store earlier and saw this lady struggle to get her son in and out the car. He must have had cerebal palsy (sp)
She appeared to me mad frustrated and exhausted and seemed to be at her wits end. :sadcam:

My question is if you had a child on the way and the doctor said that he/she would be born with down syndrome, cerebal palsy or a major birth defects, would you consider aborting the child?

Would you consider giving the kid up for adoption? Or simply take care of the child and their medical issues for the rest of their lives?

I would abort the child without a doubt. Life is hard enough when you're physically/mentally sound, I wouldn't want that kind of life for my seed :ehh:

That's what I was thinkin too. KIds with cerebal paulsy seem to be miserable and live a life full of suffering. The shyt I saw today was pretty sad :to:

I respect that :ehh: But it seems to me that kids with extreme birth defects or extreme physical/mental disabilties are suffering

I don't see how men are answering this question as if they're the ones giving birth to the child.

I'd go along with whatever my wife wanted. If she's down to raise the kid, if she's not then that's fine as well.

I don't want children, but if I ever decided to have children, no.

My brother is mentally disabled, and I would never want to deal with the guilt and the depression as a mother that can come with it, and the lifetime commitment and planning of what you're going to do when you eventually pass away and the constant worrying.

Children with mental disabilities are way more impressionable and easy to convince than a "normal" child..just as a sibling, I'm always worried about fukkin weirdos taking advantage of him.

The father should have some say in the decision. Why should the father have no say :why:

thats some 24/7 care for the rest of your life, if you dont have health insurance or coverage that money may come out of your pocket, may have to quit your job and stay home feeding changing diapers, scrubbing the piss and spit off the floor.

I'm against abortion at this time in my life so I'd have to keep the little kid :manny: howver.

The father should have some say in the decision. Why should the father have no say :why:
Becauseeeeee it's not the fathers decision. I believe that a marriage (never been married before, too young) is ideally headed by the male, he makes all of the decisions, is the authority of the household, and the woman is somewhat submissive, because he's her protector, but there's that slight instance in a relationship where the roles are switched, the man has no option, all he can do is support her if he wants the relationship to continue, and child bearing is the instance that I speak of.
