Casino is great from the first scene to the last. It never slows down. Goodfellas IMO takes a steep fall off after Tommy gets killed.

Goodfellas gets the edge because it came first and crushed the buildings but I enjoy watching Casino more.
You have it backwards almost. Almost every single scene in goodfellas is classic. I don't think there's any slow scenes whatsover.. like not one.

Casino for me is pretty damn close to that too. Classic scene after classic scene.

It's pretty damn close but yeah Ginger being the c*nt that she was and Sam being the simp that he was makes Casino harder to watch. Because you just want to punch that hoe in her damn face the whole time. Sam too near the middle end.
Gotta give Stone props for that performance tho.

Casino is just a more entertaining movie than Goodfellas to me. I've always thought it was better, and I'm honestly bored with Goodfellas by the 3rd act. :yeshrug:
The maniacal intensity of Tommy was low key the driving force of the movie. Pesci won that Academy Award for a reason. Once he’s gone, it’s a snooze fest. It’s like The Sopranos if Tony retired from the mob and walked around the crib in his bathrobe for the final season.

Part of what makes Casino better is that Pesci is there to the end. Again, he’s the one driving the movie. If they killed Nicky Santoro off early it would’ve had the same effect.

Snoozefest? Were we watching the same movie? Immediately after Tommy gets whacked we go into the sequence where Henry's trying to sell the drugs to his Pittsburgh connect while being tailed by the FBI. That entire scene is expertly shot, crazy pacing and tension, culminating to the scene where he breaks down after Karen flushes the drugs. Then we see him hit rock bottom and Jimmy turn on him. Not a snoozefest at all imo

Casino on the other hand drags in certain places and the voiceover isn't nearly as compelling as the voiceover in Goodfellas. The voiceover in Casino too often is way too expository. Casino is a classic, no doubt. But Goodfellas is better. There are things about Casino that could've been better whereas Goodfellas is pretty much perfect.

No fukking way:laugh: Henry becoming paranoid and DeNiro getting angrier was entertaining after Tommy got killed.

I know Goodfellas like the back of my hand but I've only seen Casino once when it came out in '95
:snoop:

Need to go back and watch it again

Anyway, I love this scene from Goodfellas, Jimmy literally finishes being SUPER PISSED at one guy when another cronie comes in flossing

:laff:

One of the De Niro's scenes I aways remember because Jimmy was 100% right

And then joe pesci’s character ends up sleeping with the wife..... I felt bad for Dinero in this movie, he was trying to do right by everyone and still caught Heat for trying to be a Goodfella. I guess he wasn’t really Untouchable, maybe Once Upon a Time, he could have been a Taxi Driver with Bronx Tales to tell, rather than living his life trying to hold back from being a Raging Bull.

Good one...:lolbron:

Casino is one of my top 5 favorite movies. Goodfellas would be there but the 3rd act felt like a different movie to me.
