De Niro’s acting in this scene is incredible

Goodfellas=Illmatic (influential, classic, perfect)
Casino=It Was Written (glossier and shinier, the highs are as good if not better than Goodfellas/Illmatic, but not as consistently great)

Casino is great from the first scene to the last. It never slows down. Goodfellas IMO takes a steep fall off after Tommy gets killed.

Goodfellas gets the edge because it came first and crushed the buildings but I enjoy watching Casino more.

I need to watch Casino again, give it another shot. It's not bad, but the narration takes me out of it. I thought the narration in Goodfellas was great, lots of variation in terms of the delivery and emotion from Ray Liotta. But De Niro sounds bored in his narration of Casino and worse yet, Pesci's voice is terrible in it. Kinda takes me out of the movie.

And then joe pesci’s character ends up sleeping with the wife..... I felt bad for Dinero in this movie, he was trying to do right by everyone and still caught Heat for trying to be a Goodfella. I guess he wasn’t really Untouchable, maybe Once Upon a Time, he could have been a Taxi Driver with Bronx Tales to tell, rather than living his life trying to hold back from being a Raging Bull.

He should have stayed off those Mean Streets.

I would've put 2 in Pesci's head the moment he nodded to that slore if I was De Niro, those 2 and I'm not a fan of this genre but man they both had me heated watching this way back when...
