After Floyd fought Baldomir, he announced his retirement? No he didnt. He said he was gonna fight 1 more fight and he was done. That was November 4th, 2006

He fought 1 more fight, ODLH in May of 2007 and he retired....just like he said he was gonna do 6 months prior


And you're gonna just sit here and act like Mosley, who was at 147 like Floyd was in 2006, didnt duck Floyd after the 2nd Vargas fight in that interview and after Floyd had already beaten Judah and had no fight lined up....PLUS Floyd had called him out 3 times prior already over the years?


Floyd didnt even fight Baldomir until the end of the year and 4 months after Mosley fought Vargas. The fight could've been easily made, but Shane's tooth hurt

chavez was one of the first boxers to start boxing on those weekends(when he fought taylor, camacho, lonnie smith,frankie randall and whitaker), de la hoya used it to his advantage and floyd doing the same thing but i think he's made it more of a big weekend event.

there is nothing in fukkin writing that says floyd owns those dates and that nobody cannot fight on them. mexican independence and cinco de mayo weekend always been a free market date. same with de la hoya. people forget that when de hoya fought mayorga on hbo ppv, showtime had a their own card. when de la hoya fought sturm on hbo ppv, showtime once again had their own card with jeff lacy. i just think floyd and his team have done a helluva job marketing to the point where it's all eyes on him and fuk everything else on cinco de mayo and mexican independence weekend.

I never said it was Bob's plan you goof, I was just pointing out the irony.. Pac and Floyd are gonna make their guaranteed purses regardless, but unlike Pac Floyd banks on getting all that backend ppv revenue.. Mexicans from Mexico don't celebrate it. It's only meant for Mexicans from one area (Puebla). When I worked at a restaurant and the all the cooks, bus boys, and dishwashers were Mexican, they all told me they didn't celebrate Cinco De Mayo because they were from a different area (Oaxaca).

Basically, it's more celebrated in America than it is in Mexico
