Behind You
Seems like all the rumors are leading that way. De La Hoya continues to "build" his relationship with Arum and it is said DLH wants to mend fences with HBO and secure more distribution, in case Haymon power plays him out of Showtime.
Outside of Floyd-Manny and Floyd-Canelo 2, this may be the biggest fight to be made. You would have to think HBO and Showtime would at least try to work out a way to make this fight...Cotto has said he will be loyal to HBO and won't toss them to the bushes.

Boxing as a sport needs to make this fight happen. It is a fantastic matchup and is great for the fans. As fans we deserve it and it would be a shame if network/promoter beefs held it up.
I am pretty sure Canelo only had a 3 fight deal with Showtime and the third fight is set for this November. He can fight wherever he wants to fight next year so network battles won't be a problem.
With the thaw between Oscar and Arum, Oscar working with HBO again to put on the Hopkins/Kovalev fight and both Canelo/Cotto being free agents as far as what networks they can fight on...it is almost a guarantee that Canelo/Cotto will be happening on HBO PPV next May.

If Floyd can't get a Manny fight for that weekend to make Canelo/Cotto move then I see Showtime moving Floyd's fight date to avoid having to share PPV revenues and face the possible embarressment of losing badly in PPV buys to the Canelo/Cotto card.

No they wouldn't. Golden boy would push the date back I don't even think HBO would even try to go up against the most anticipated fight in the history of boxing even if the fight us 5 years late

With all these egos involved you can never be too sure, but you make a valid point.

Sauls next fight won't even be on PPV..

Ego and stupidity are 2 diff things. You don't go from not generating enough interest for a PPV event in one fight to going up against what is inevitable the highest selling fight of all time. Nobody's going to sign off on that.

Right.

Nobody is watching Canelo Alvarez vs Miguel Cotto over Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao.

And Im saying that representing #CaneloCartel:birdman:

Canelo and Cotto is a good match, but I would smack the shyt out of somebody who tried to order that fight over Floyd/Pacquiao:heh:

He has a guaranteed contract either way, so it doesn't matter who he fights. Showtime just sitting in the cut like :lupe: hoping it's someone lucrative

They're also

on keeping Canelo/Cotto on Showtime PPV

Cotto vs Canelo no doubt will be on the Network of Champions...

The Sweet Science
If they are smart Canelo vs Cotto are gonna Co headline on May. If the impossible happens and Floyd vs pac is made then
You could have the winners meet up.
History could be made if either ( you know it's gonna be Floyd though:sas1:) fighter can add the middleweigt
crown

Or If Canelo or Cotto dont want to agree to that id also consider putting Thurman vs Porter on the under card winner gets Floyd. Assuming(almost guarenteed) Floyd doesn't fight Manny and does fight say a Con :scust:

Canelo Alvarez vs Miguel Cotto as the undercard breh?:comeon:

You do know that, that fight is bigger than ANY fight that Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao can make right now (besides fighting themselves)?:dwillhuh:

Mexico vs PR? On Cinco De Mayo?:usure:

That's a HUGE PPV....you dont toss that as an undercard. That PPV alone would be at LEAST 1.3-1.5 million.

As far as Thurman. Floyd needs to tell Amir Khan that he needs to fight Keith Thurman next, and he will fight the winner of that fight.

I said if Floyd fights Manny the second scenario is just what I would do if I were Floyd assuming that pac vs Floyd isn't made

i seriously doubt that cotto vs Canelo does a mill much less 1.3 to 1.5 plus

Well if gets the date Floyd really has no choice but to fight Manny, as that is the only fight the would trump a Canelo vs Cotto card. They might as well mmake that the Co-Main and damnit we would have an amazing night of boxing.
