Anyone else feels like Hal is gonna end up dying in the end of the Lanterns series and Jon is gonna be the primary Lantern of the DCU moving forward?

Is there any precedence for this going forward in the comics? I know nothing really about Hal because I was a cartoon/movies kid more than comics.

When the actor playing Hal signed up, it was reported that there was no language for a movie role. Everyone assumes that he'll die during the show and John will be the main GL going forward.

The actor playing Hal (Kyle Chandler) is almost 60, so I think it's a guarantee that John (Aaron Pierre) will be the main GL of the DCU.
