Flash, Arrow, Legends, and Supergirl are dope
You my dude but Supergirl is absolute trash. I'm not even talking about the overt, cheesy, feminist tone; the writing & the acting is straight garbage.

Dont worryWait a minute this is saying DC is creating their own digital service for these shows......
That means they want me to pay them to basically watch YJ solely
It's supergirl tho. It should be feminist. It would be stupid if it wasn't. I thought the first season was rough but the second was much better and they found their footing
That's not an excuse. I could point to several shows with strong, prominent female leads that don't have this problem. The issue isn't the message, it's the ham fisted delivery.
A good comedy feels effortless while others try so hard to be funny that it's lost in the delivery. That's been the issue for this show from the start.
True but I don't feel that way about supergirl. If anything I think it's cheesiness is part of its charm and the charm of that character and hardens back to reeves' superman. They went for a mix of Kara and his Clark Kent and the earnestness of his Kent seems too on the nose by 2017 standards but it doesn't mean it can't be charming at times. I like the show as a political allegory as well and I feel like it tackles stuff other superhero shows should be tackling
Interesting. Cause I'd say that's the first season. The second season they found their identity and what they want to be going forwardI feel you, definitely not trying to change your mind but that last bit is my issue.
It's trying to do too much & as is the case when you try to be everything to everyone, you fall short on all fronts. The show lacks a cohesive identity and the diverging plot points exceed the casts abilities.

Kara finally decided on a direction, the rest of the cast were still flailing. Even if I concede that point, the social bludgeoning continued without missing a beat.
You really think the 2nd Season had a cohesive identity? The actual heroics took a backseat to all types of activism, empowerment angles, etc. Until well into the latter half of the season they couldn't keep the storyline together.
Arrow & Flash touch on a LOT of social issues but it's never lost on the viewers that you're watching THE FLASH. It's just a more deft approach IMO.
I disagree with that. I think they touch but don't go far enough. Supergirl clearly has an opinion and stance
See, there's the disconnect. I'm not tuning in to a superhero show for social commentary, activism, & preaching from subpar actors. If I wanted those things, I'd go to actual platforms for that.
But to bring it full circle, I respect your stance on this show.
The first season was better than the second hands down. The first season was a bit of a mess but at least they had a handle on who the character of Kara was, they utilized their supporting cast better and managed to not make every romantic relationship feel like it was written by someone who'd never been in a relationship before. It's supergirl tho. her skin
I am curious how they are going to make her look...will they go for full body paint or just use some bronzer as highlights on her own skin, slap on a wig and some green contacts and call it a day?
I so disagree and there are so many reasons that have nothing to do with Mon-El (who I hate a lot) but rather with the way that Supergirl became less of an interesting, independent character in the 2nd season and how vapidly sophomoric the writing was for the lesbian storyline.I think the second is much better than the first and a lot of it had to do with them embracing the stuff they only hinted at in the first but were tepid with because they were on cbs
