Legends of Tomorrow: Routh Reveals Which Final Scene Was Hardest to Film
Brandon Routh may play tough guys on screen, but he was a total softie when it came time to film his final scenes for
Legends of Tomorrow.
"I did cry a little," Routh recalled on Michael Rosenbaum's podcast
Inside of You. "It was a weird schedule, because we were filming the crossover as I was filming my last two episodes," Routh explained, "So it was going back and forth on crossover days to episode days and there's very dramatic scenes in the last couple episodes, one between Nick Zano and I. That was the hardest."
Routh, who is leaving the show — along with Courtney Ford — said he got a lot of his emotions out that day, "On set [and] on camera."
"We didn't have to reach for it," Routh said. "So the last day, I was in the Atom suit doing green screen, working by myself, with the crew, so it was kind of a weird last day." He then explained that while co-star Courtney Ford was not there, the two shared plenty of emotions on their last day of filming together.
Routh told Rosenbaum that it was somewhat of an unfamiliar situation. "Leaving wasn't my choice, so there's all of those feelings mixed up in there and, to my knowledge, nobody on the crew wanted to see me go," Routh asserted. "So I take that experience and I'm very grateful for it."
