"The mother of 13-year-old Karon Blake, who police say was shot and killed by a D.C. government employee, said her son was the “man of the house” and a help to her."

“Despite the time of the day it was, despite, you know, children are children,” Blake said. “Some of them grow up too fast, some of them do things that they’re not supposed to do, and some us parents are not aware at all times.”

Man of the house at 13? With a father that is alive? "Despite the time of day it was..children are children...." Wasn't he the man of the house? Young brother never had a chance....

She said this man needs to be convicted. No, SHE needs to be convicted. There's no reason your 13 year old boy needs to be roaming the streets going in people's cars at 2 in the morning, but the "victim for profit" mob is going to make sure the blame goes elsewhere other than the parent who isn't doing what they're supposed to be doing.

There's NO way a 13 year old boy should be considered the man of the house. Her son had to 'help her out', but she's showing up in designer shades and a Chanel hat on.

whether morally right or wrong by law this guy is in trouble. When I took my conceal and carry class more than even weapons safety the one thing we discussed was laws of when you can and can't use your weapon. Most states have something in place that you have to be in immediately and close contact lethal danger to deploy weapons. If he shot lil breh from a distance because he they said something to him and he thought maybe they were stealing some else property he's fuked, not going to do no 10 or 20 years but I would be surprised if he he gets off without anything. Also he has to live with the fact he killed a kid.

This! The only reason this is getting dragged out is because the person in question works for the DC Government. As shown below DC does not have a stand your ground law, so he had the obligation to retreat before he could use deadly force. If this was an ordinary citizen he would already be charged.

District of Columbia Law
Washington D. C. does not have a stand your ground law. The District’s case law allows juries to consider a failure to retreat when evaluating the necessity of a person’s use of force.

That is not true at all.

:what:

Sometimes it takes weeks before an investigation is completed and the grand jury indicts or the DA charges. They have to make sure the charges they file fits the evidence they have.

went to go see my mechanic in NE few weeks back and we chopped it up. OG Jamaican cat who's been running his shop for 30+ years. breh basically seen it all. cops knocking on his door while drug dealers were hiding on his roof :mjlol:

He said the type of shyt going on today is MUCH worse than rayful days. Back then in the 80s things were crazy, but if you wasn't part of the game in any way, then you were generally left alone.

Now kids are sticking up any and everybody. No rhyme or reason. don't matter if you white, black, indian. arrested. slap on the wrist and they right back on the streets. This shyt is sad and confusing at the same time
When did NE get so bad? I moved from there back when the pandemic first started. Place was gentrified.

When I saw her on tv yesterday I shook my head but I wasn't surprised.

Every time someone from this family speaks it confirms exactly what I knew from the jump, he never had a chance. The grand daddy is ignorant, the daddy is ignorant and the mama is ignorant. Every single one of them keeps skirting around the issue of why their son/grandson was in the streets at 4am. I wish this trial could be televised because I want them to try to skirt it on the stand if they have to testify

Thats not the story the police have. The only interaction is the kid pleading for his life and being shot at.

Also looks like he hadn't broken into anything, and wasn't on this guys property

Obviously have to wait for all the facts to come out like you said, but this doesn't look at all like the "violent demon carjacker with his gang threatening the homeowners life" spin that people are trying to throw around in this thread
Yet you go black folks in this thread celebrating the murder of a young black child

Guy who shot him will more than likely get a manslaughter charge, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. You got cars being jacked, people getting robbed for Canada Goose jackets, randoms getting shot in the metro, DC folks getting tired of getting punked.

If he was in the car and shot the kid to avoid being carjacked, cool. thats self defense.

If he shot the kid in defense of the car and he was not currently occupying the vehicle, thats straight murder. No laws give you the right to kill in defense of inanimate objects. your life has to be in danger, not your possessions. doesn't matter how prized a possession it is. human live is valued more under our laws.
