In this case yes. There is and epidemic of juveniles carjacking and stealing cars in this area.
Fukk that MJ LS shyt. You know the homeowner is a Black man.

So Black folks can't own homes?
Black folks don't have the right to own nice things and not expect people to fukk with them?
MJPLS yourself.
don't care that he's black, he had no reason whatsoever to shot at them and kill that kid. anybody of any race in the same exact circumstance should not be able to do what he did.

Nope, black people who aren't involved in street shyt should just cooperate with the criminals out of respect, snitching to the cops or taking matters into your own hands makes you a c00n.

He wasn't carjacking anyone though

He wasn't a threat, had no weapons, and was 13 years old

I get that crime is bad in DC, but murdering a child who wasn't a threat can never be the answer

Kids look into cars everywhere, and yeah it sucks, but the punishment for it sure as fukk should not be death

This is my issue here..

People on this site and across the nation use criminals to forward their idea that poverty causes violence.. They claim that people are so poor that they are willing to kill for something that doesn't belong to them.. My question is, if access to resources is a matter of life or death, how come it isn't a matter of life or death to preserve it?
that's just western society

in most other places it's understood that being a robber and thief will get you killed on the street when caught. your family disowns you and you don't live to go to jail. in a lot of countries if you do this kind of crime even as a teenage you get taken out by street justice and the law looks away, that is how strong the disdain is for theft and robbery. so it is a matter of life and death. by contrast western nations provide a whole lot of protection and consideration that doesn't exist elsewhere. Do that same shyt in South America, Africa, Asia and you dead and nobody will be talking about your rights...

Not carjacking, but him and his crew were breaking into cars. Possibly with the intent to steal them.
Yes legally the homeowner possibly made mistakes. He will have to show in court that he legit feared for his safety and that a reasonable person in the same situation would've done the same.

You don't break into cars at night, you don't get shot.
Why can't that be the lesson?

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, and hopefully the details of the confrontation come out.

If people are out stealing parked cars, a flood light, car alarm or loud noise will generally cause them to either flee or speed up the theft.

Picture of story seems like the man confronted the thieves, and they didn't run. Possibly threatened him to go back in his house," we know where you live we'll be back", or dared him to do something.

I don't think the dead thief was shot in the back, as he was fleeing. Don't know how clear any security footage would be, but the answer is in the moments after he confronted them.

I live in DC, hardworking people are getting fed up with teens and goons terrorizing everyone. The stealing all packages, shooting everyday. It's pure chaos here. Not justifying killing the teen, but there's going to be a lot of this soon.

It's like there's no Cops in DC.

Whatever. I'm with the taxpaying homeowner.

The communitah and parents failed this kid. And they are failing other kids by making this homeowner out as the bad guy and not focusing on juveniles committing crime.

If his parents or guardians or any of these fake ass people crying about this kid now gave a damn about him he wouldn't be out after midnight breaking into cars.

I swear you and I had a couple arguments about whether or not black people supported tougher policing back in 1994 lol

Thats not the story the police have. The only interaction is the kid pleading for his life and being shot at.

Also looks like he hadn't broken into anything, and wasn't on this guys property

Court papers say security camera footage did not show Blake coming onto Lewis’ property. Images do show Lewis extending his arm while standing in his yard. Audio of shots being fired can also be heard.

At a press conference Tuesday, D.C. Police Chief Robert Contee said they believed Lewis first fired a shot at the vehicle in the street. He said there was no confrontation between Lewis and Blake leading up to the shooting.

"I think the biggest grievance is that the first shot that was fired was actually fired at someone who was sitting in a vehicle who was not an immediate threat to the person who fired the shot," Contee said.

The documents also say Blake can be heard saying, "I am sorry," numerous times, followed by, "Please don’t," and "No."

Following the shooting, Blake yells, "I am a kid, I am a kid," and "I am only 12," numerous times.

Investigators say it is believed Blake and others were using a flashlight to look into vehicles in the area when the shooting took place.
Obviously have to wait for all the facts to come out like you said, but this doesn't look at all like the "violent demon carjacker with his gang threatening the homeowners life" spin that people are trying to throw around in this thread
