I'm confused. How does DC own captain marvel

Shazam is the ORIGINAL Captain Marvel. The company that created Shazam kinda built him around the design of Superman in the late 30s/early 40s. What happened is the kids related to Captain Marvel’s story more than Superman’s. Superman was an alien. Captain Marvel was a teenager who got powers and could change back n forth between regular scrawnt teen to adult Captain Marvel with muscles with just saying the words. Comic book fans(majority kids and teens) related to that much more and Captain Marvel ended up doing better than Superman in that era. DC got pissed and sued the publishing company who created Captain Marvel. They ended up buying the rights to Captain Marvel and sat on it until the 60s when Marvel came with their own Captain Marvel. Then they ended up turning his name exclusively to Shazam to avoid confusion.

Wonder Woman did her thing and her sequel movie will probably be just as successful

Supes on the other hand has failed to really adapt to modern times.

Captain Marvel "Shazam" did really well and he's basically Supes but better. Better powers, less vulnerabilities, better costume, especially the Cape .

We don't need another Superman reboot. Just replace him with Captain Marvel
