cali is active has like 3 good songs man i couldnt fukk with it at all

im admittedly biased, i reallly reallly should get more into that southern shyt...i cant hate at ALL anyone picking ball and mjg over dogg pound..

artists with a 5 mic quality landmark classic album trumps artists with a few 4.25 quality regional/cult classics everytime.

I haven't heard the album Ball & G dropped on Grand Hustle or the independent album they dropped that same year.

I haven't listened to enough of either duo's solo albums to make a fair judgement. Based on the group albums though, comparing Dogg Pound to Eightball & MJG is like comparing Snoop Dogg to Scarface. Yes, Doggystyle could go up against any album in Face's catalog, but overall, Face's catalog >>>>>> Snoop's.

I ain't saying it wasn't tight...but Dogg Food was straight up g-beats and rhymes. The appeal was that it wasn't novel or introspective,
it was "this is the Dogg Pound, this is what we do". For every song on that album, the vibe was just as said on "Respect":

"all we do is smoke weed and get blitzed/and kick that muthafuccin' gangsta chit...."
"saywhat saywhat saywhat saywhat sayWHUUUUUUT?"

And what you bringin' up sales, for?

I brought up sales because dogg food was by far the more popular album..and some people (not saying you specifically) tend to think that that plays a role into how good a album is..

outkast's better. the mobb's better. ugk's better. ghost and rae's better. nas and az's better. basically any duo of rappers or ones commonly associated with each other are all better than kurupt's forced ass flow. i can't get past him.

Dogg food is one of the most overrated albums ever.."New York,New york" and "bomb ass p*ssy" is the best songs on it IMO, and daz was and always will be garbage on the mic..spice 1 1st & 2nd album never seems to get held in the same regard, and both of'em shyts all on dogg food as far as west coast gangsta albums go

I dont know where you are from, but anytime face is brought up anywhere nikkas always bring up the fix since it was his only 5 mic album and he sucked alot of new york dikk on it. It actually ranks higher than any snoop album.
