Wrestling although pre determined, is not supposed to look choreographed. Otherwise y’all nikkas might as watch ballet.
So I’m supposed to suspend my disbelief that in a tournament, these two nikkas who are supposed to be tag team partners, are competing against each other by doing the same moves in the same sequence from 30 years ago?
Too much insider shyt man.
But the nikkas in Stanford are insulting peoples intelligence LOL
I check wrestling sites for news. You scroll and see things. Same goes for anyone who doesn't watch WWE yet still talks about it.For someone who doesn't watch AEW you're really keeping up to date with this tournament huh
That's great you tell us that you're really informed, because now you reveal you're even more biased, and unable to form your own actual opinions.I check wrestling sites for news. You scroll and see things. Same goes for anyone who doesn't watch WWE yet still talks about it.
I scroll past a twitter site feed and see FTR vs FTR: Owen Tournament Qualifier plastered on the head line, it's hard to miss.

So it should look like MMA? If that's the case why even watch wrestling at all?
Miss me with this phony purist bullshyt.
I think youre looking at it from the wrong lens. I saw it as two tag partners who know each other so well their counters to moves mirrored the counters of their favorite wrestlers because of how familar they are with their catalogue. If they werent tag partners who are as in sync id definitely agree but if I expect this for any tag team its the polished old school guys.So wrestling where nikkas cut a promo threatening to beat someone’s ass is supposed to look like ballet?
I mean if that’s what you like to see, do you bruh.
The alternative that was supposed to be “real sports feel” just consistently shows “hey this is phony (wink wink)”.
Flair/Dusty. The common man chasing the arrogant rich champ. People believed that and could buy it, that’s why it drew. nWo. Blurred the lines making nikkas think WWF was coming in gang style and taking over TV. People could believe it and it drew. Austin/McMahon. Rebel, blue collar red neck of the people versus his boss. People could believe it and it drew. See the trend?
Two bland fans of 80s wrestling essentially doing a cheoreographed tribute to a match close to 30 years ago, I’m supposed to suspend my disbelief?
Cmon fam.
This is like catching a few minutes of a movie on cable then writing a review of it based on what little you saw of it and stranger’s opinionsI check wrestling sites for news. You scroll and see things. Same goes for anyone who doesn't watch WWE yet still talks about it.

Apparently the Trophy is the Owen Cup but the title you get, the name they call you is "The Owen." Will they call the women's winner "The Owen" as well? Maybe "The Martha"?Yall gotta chill in here. This match is for two HEAVILY revered wrestlers from our youth. But just a couple of points to make...
Lots of tournaments have qualifiers. The qualifiers add prestige. Even the damn Royal Rumble had qualifiers.
Calling the trophy "The Owen" is fukking DOPE and really pays tribute to the man.
And lastly, this is a tournament put on by Martha Hart's foundation for Owen. It doesnt need some kayfabe prize. Its big on its own. The fact that it even exists is amazing considering how badly Vince handled Owen's death.
But I didn't review the match. All I said was they were wasting a match like that on a qualifier which I got off a headline. This is like catching a few minutes of a movie on cable then writing a review of it based on what little you saw of it and stranger’s opinions
