People fled up North. Blacks moving up north is one of the largest migrations of people in human history. I don’t know why you think it would be limited to just within America. When people are under attack, they move.

Blacks fled to Mexico and Canada dog. Fled to the islands. I just learned about a group of Black Americans who fled to Trinidad.
