He also said Cam gets criticized for the most ridiculous things.

And he also said, he believes a big part of the Cam criticisms are racial...

I've seen more people agree with Shaq's "I don't see race, Cam just needs to stop being a douche" point of view, than they did Robinsons....

:yeshrug:

I think it normal to not be attracted to a cocky winning/ sore loser.

Its the complete two extremes.

Its out of the norm.

Hakeem has two rings as the man. David Robinson needed The GOAT PF to help get him 2 rings. :umad:

:manuehh:

Either way, D-Rob ended his career on his terms and a champion.

Dream was butchering the French language north of the border to close out his career.

I think there's a double-standard afoot regarding Black QB's.

Define a cocky winner. Because Cam might dance after scoring a TD, but whenever the Panthers win, it's not like he denigrates the opposing team in post-games. He usually gives the opposing team credit like every other White QB.

And there are other White QB's who have shown impatience, unintrest or disinterest in post-game losses also.. Outside of dancing when scoring running TD's what else does Cam. I honestly don't get the hate....

Being honest, David Robinson was also seen as a proper speaking, super clean-cut Black dude from a military academy. He was never put on as "cool".

Alot of the disrespect for him came from that, rather than his bball skills.

He was probably the quickest, most athletic TRUE center ever. Had a nice jumper and was a pretty good shot blocker.
Why ya'll hate such types? Does that deduct from his blackness in any way? Isnt David Robinson the one who went to a mostly black school and promised a full-ride scholarship to every student that graduated? AND KEPT HIS PROMISE!!!

But noooo. These clones wanna worship MJ who gives 2 sh!ts about them and only gives for tax purposes.

I think you made a good point on the word choice " cocky" , i think excessive celebration/ sore loser best describes the point im trying to make.

Keep in mind, most games Panthers blew out there opponents. While Cam kept running up the score & and on top of that vultures goaline tds ( obvious Jeremey Stewart fantasy owner ) while completing dance routines. Also, keep in mind of how the Broncos defense reacted to Cam ( damn near all blacks), i believe they stated what all others thought but they acutally beat him to speak on it.

Now, i like when cam celebrates BUT i wish he didnt act the way he did during the press conference because he just fueled the media/haters. And here we are ....

Problem with Robinson was the injuries caught up with him as well. People think Duncan played with prime D-Rob...dude used to have LeBron-type athleticism at the C position.
Yep you are absolutely right the injuries he sustained the season before they got Duncan diminished his athleticism tremendously.

But how excessive IS excessive? :jbhmm:

What's the limit? We've seen guys like Aaron Rodgers do his little Championship Belt celebration after TD's. He even made the Discount Double Check commercials, that somehow made him even MORE endearing to America. How?

No one can really pinpoint what Cam says specifically that warrants the hate he gets. I think people confuse Cam's exuberance, with arrogance. I think it's all perception at this point. The Broncos defense had to find some sort of edge to play as big as they did. The Broncos D going hard on Cam, isn't anymore of an indication of Cam's arrogance, they just had to find some sort of mental edge. Their Blackness doesn't negate that they too, may have perception issues regarding Cam. In this very thread we have Black Shaq taking the opposing view of Drob regarding Cam.

QB's White or Black have routinely jawed at the opposing defenses, I really think it's just perception at this point when it comes to Cam. And that perception has been there, every since Nolan Nawrock said he had a fake smile and was disingenuous, untrustworthy, and lacked leadership qualities when he was coming out of Auburn. And when Whites have a perception of you, it'll be hard to break no matter what you do. The body language of Cam has been analyzed like no other. Every little head-slouch and smirk...

I'm not saying White QB's haven't had the same criticisms, but I think White people take those critiques at face value when it comes to Black QB's and they run with it, and use it against them any chance they get.

did a nikka really say D-Rob should have been MORE dominant? A dude that skipped his first few years, came in and immediately turned his franchise around even with shyt players around him? That nikka was the 90s version of 1st go around Lebron Cavs. He worked EVERY big in the league out. He wasn't soft either - they just didn't understand a hyper athletic big without tons of back to the basket moves dominating. He was a face up big with crazy speed and handle for his size. People didn't understand it till KG came in and started playing as a point-PF player.

:salute:to David Robinson for his statements about the true resson alot of white people dislike Cam Newton and especially for creating the Carver Academy. He should be a major role modelike for young black men across the nation on how to conduct your life and business.
