NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
man, the industry marketed these fake ass toy nikkaz and they went with it.
if you really bout the culture.
no amount of money was going to change that.
no amount of time was going to change that.

people.don't change from their original state.
they adopt an agenda.

originally, none of these nikkaz you see on your tv ever gave a fukk about hip hop.
only thing that changed is they are like al sharpton, and fake paid for politicians.
they saw a capitalistic op to make money.
they don't care about you and I know they don't.
real bboys are not and have never been toys or flew to being a toy.

this nikka, and all of his contemporaries are toys.

I dont agree with the bolded AT ALL. Ur basically sayin noone grows up and I cant get wit that. I know for a fact that even tho the base of who I am is the same. My views are damn near completely different from when I was like 22. Which was different from when I was 18. Ect ect. People have kids. Experience trauma. Go thru life struggles. Ups n downs. And if u go thru life and dont learn from any of ur mistakes than what u living for?. Aint nobody on this earth perfect and if u walk around acting like u are than of course there's no room for growth. U learn from ur mistakes. Thats how u gain wisdom. The wisdom to teach ur kids what uve learned over the years. Its FAR deeper than hip hop. We talkin bout life even if hip hop never existed. Which is why I dont just call myself a grown man. I say im a growing man. shyt somethin u could say to me right now can open my eyes to things I never thought about before. Life is about progress.

first of all,..this is all general speak.
you are equating this to you and i.
who, are bboys, and yes...
me,.... and bboys like you,...
share a braintrust that has growth built into it as a supreme.
plus, is not supposed to be compromised by toys, at all.
so, we have to grow to spot all toys.
in that growth, we are to never violate what the culture is.
david banner when we first encountered david banner.
even in just plain print of his name is an offkey wack gangsta rapper sucka emcee style rapper at best.
plus, pulls the ol' imma producer first bullshyt, too.
way past the shelf life of that type of skillset.
plus, preyed upon the mistrel show based failed parody draw of that.
after it was clearly outlined that shyt was a violation.
which is why i bring up the legacy of big and mca.
yet, being allowed some type of pass, erroneously.
when blatantly violating,..
which creates a pass system, for more artist to prey upon that model.
then, after they fail.
try to bounce that cultural violation into some other arena.
like the culture is endorsing this mediocrity culturally within.
when, it isn't and never has.
that generic gangsta rap style rapper was eliminated from being of and being about the culture.
to the point it becomes parody in hammer, and later spins completely out of control.
by using the cliche of just poverty/sob story.
as a pass, for a lack of skills.
that is what all of 93.

just to put it in cultural context.
just to bring people up to speed, just a bit on just the cultural side of things.
let's put it like this.
david banner, was in college and all of that.
he fully is another schooled artist.
who prayed upon the system of commercialism of rap.
then, eliminated the further degradation and bond of the culture of hiphop to its core profitable business.
just to put it at it simplest.
now, just because he has a doctor cornell west style beard.
i am supposed to just embrace this politician style trickery.

this nikka is not fukkn' chuck d, breh.

never on no day, am i gonna ever embrace david banner at all in this manner.
he is not this elder like that.
he is another one of these fakin jax producers who raps frauds.
just trying to tap a dollar because he did not rap well, and just got a check from the bigs.
this is just his new wwf style work.
it is not genuine and i can say that cause he was never.
originally genuine to his own supposed culture, of hiphop.
i have credence cause our real elders never had fakin jax moments culturally, ever.

so, why am i ever going to embrace this dude, who came out fake'n jax.
hiphop is about not fake'n jax, culturally.
he started out the gate like that.

i'm not goin.

#nopass
#nolack'n

david banner is a college attendee guy running a work, joe.
he paved the way for guys like plies who later drew more from this failed model.
perpetrated a failed stereotype as acceptable and it made a further erosion of the culture from its core business.
never once did he give like a press packet in the beginning.
to fully explain how and why he made music the way he did.
past the novelty of poverty, or homelessness.
with a bullshyt gangsta rap press id, of i'm david banner,...
aargh,..i will hulk smash you if you ask me about my skills, and why i don't have none on the mic.

it was never about skills.
or the culture with this guy for real.

it was the cliche overcommercial sellout way to go.
like all post 96 signed artist on majors in general.
which later became a oversaturation of signees.
like universal did when they just raided whatever material was available in the market place.
with a direct barameter of what was commercial and cultural.
as universal style raiding was built behind the braintrust of island record.

sorry, i am not goin, just like i was not buying his albums.
all because he could not really rap well, and was a fraud toy.
trying to peddle poverty and homelessness as an excuse for a lack of skills.
when, he never applied himself in college.
or to any real skills emcee'n, like that.
plus, played the sellout sucka mc role, and failed then trying to deflect that shyt.

once, you publically violate a threshold culturally i can't trust you in this manner in which he seeks to be trusted.

it is time, we hold nikkaz accountable for their bullshyt.

i can understand for nikkaz not in the culture.
yet, david banner was a guy.
who went to college and saw rap as just a hustle.
not a real cultural minded guy fully, who was on a major.
he was a hustler toy rapper.
who preyed on the culture on some toy shyt, and is doing it now again.

i'm not buying, what he marketing.

let the krs's krs.
i don't need the frauds trying to finesse, and be finesse, my nikka.

i'm not goin,on david banner.
he gon have to move around.
i am not taking dilution of the freedom fighter rapper to be a sellout failed rapper.
who pulled a blatant failed work.
plus, could not rap worth a damn.
to the point, i could write another whole art barr style titangraph.
to illustrate indepth...
yet, i am not goin.
just like some of the people fooled in here.
like to say they are not goin if i did write another titan graph.
just know,...
i'm not goin,......

You can really tell in this thread who is who...
Banner spoke nothing but truth and a lot of people in this thread feeling uncomfortable so typical reaction is to paint him a hypocrite. News flash everyone is a hypocrite and his age has nothing to do with it. Yall do know this man has been making music for Gatorade and Disney movies the past few years right eating good? At risk of losing out on that money he speaking out and talking about the problems with his culture which he has every right to. He braver than damn near all these rappers you young cats look up to who are nowhere to be found when tragedies happen or barely say a word. Like I said in the other Banner thread...yall dont stand for nothing and have no codes and when light gets shone on that fact yall scatter like roaches and try to kill the messenger without even hearing the message or even addressing it. I'm so happy he brought up Krit and Mt. Olympus. Krit even mentioned it on Hot 97 when he was interviewed how they never played his shyt and he personally reached out to them with no response about the record but no calls was returned. Unless you shucking and jiving like the majority of ATL artists fitting the stereotype that most "people" are satisfied with you not getting any promotion and thats whats wrong with hip hop now.

i actually listen closely to what these rappers say when they try to open up intellectual discourse, since it's so rare, i appreciate that. i cosign everything he said about police and "good" cops not holding the "bad" ones accountable, but towards the end he said, verbatim, "I asked a person 'if trayvon martin was white would this whole situation be different', the person told me 'David Banner, yes.' That shows you where america is." wait a minute, what? that person saying "david banner, yes" shows us where America is? who is this person? why did this person's answer hold so much weight? lol, but i got no gripes, i'll take 70% of poignant dialogue and disregard the 30% of passion filled "what are you talking about bro?" moments.

A lot of what he said isn't new and I agree with his points on racism, police etc. As a few other posters pointed out though what is really being overlooked is his statement about balance in hip-hop being missing and many people don't seem to get that.

Crabs in a barrel ass nikkas right on cue:snoop:

But....but....he made that type of music years ago!

So the fukk what? Dudes matured and awakened to the fukk shyt that's gone on, nothing can take away from the real he's been speaking as of late. Swear nikkas fukking make me sick, someone tries to be positive and build and the first thing y'all do is tear him down and cherry pick reasons to shyt on him. fukkin monkey ass nikkas all y'all do is throw shyt.:pacspit: If there was a race war, Wed be the first ones wiped out cuz nikkas are too busy going at each other for any fukkin reason

That's real talk I notice that a lot on the coli....I try to keep it positive on everything I post and not throw stone at anyone but what you said needed to be said...But just watch how long it will take before someone attacks with some childish ish just to do it. It seems like everyone is always talking about people hating but the ones that are so called being hated on are hating on everybody else.

Never liked anything about this cat outside of Like A Pimp..musically he always came off corny.

He makes good points though. Anybody calling him a hypocrite should say the same thing about Pac.
Yep and i'm a Pac stan but he was hypocritical on some things, however he always stood for black power so he's good in my book.

I don't
pac was not all over the place with his music nor his views he was consistent with his music and views with that said i agree with the bolded

I don't know bro I like Pac too but he went from Brenda's having a baby to Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Can't Have None) to Never Had a Friend Like Me to Hit Em Up to Only God Can Judge Me to Wonda Why They Call U B---- to Same Song to Nothin but Love....and if you remember when he was interviewed by a reporter and asked what would you like people to say about you in ten years, and he said I quote You see that guy over there, Tupac remember when he use to be bad.... So all I am saying is that he knew he still had to grow as a person because life teaches you lessons and the person that you are now will not be the same person in ten years, and if some people say that's not true than you are denying one of the greatest things that make us human, the ability to adapt and overcome and learn from our mistakes...

first off pac never made a song called ain't no fun that's first off then second like i said nobody is one way all the time and u should'nt be u should be multisided and have alot of sides to he was a human being like i am so with that said your post don't make sense.

Ok first off you don't have to come off like a a$$hole if you read my post I know what you said and if your a ok writer and a good reader you can see that I was agreeing with you also and speaking out against people that did not agree with you by stating....(So all I am saying is that he knew he still had to grow as a person because life teaches you lessons and the person that you are now will not be the same person in ten years, and if some people say that's not true than you are denying one of the greatest things that make us human, the ability to adapt and overcome and learn from our mistakes)... blue being yours and my statement basically saying the something and red ink being the people that disagreed with you....Maybe that's why I Daped your original post. Second if Tupac didn't make that song, Well I can admit when I am wrong but I think he was on that song. Number 15 on this album...and last my post didn't have any negative emotional content I started with a friendly introduction hint the word bro short for brother when I started talking to you so if you were looking for a neg emotion in my post you brought that in on your own not me. Hope this makes sense to you now and have a blessed day....
