Much respect. Me and my friends talk about this all the time. This generation isnt willing to stand up for anything anymore. Its like they are ignorant of their own history and when you try to tell them they dont want to know. The music is worse and countless other hip hop artists talk about this all the time. There is no balance anymore and anything goes. I realized it this weekend when a song was on the radio my nephew was listening to. The song was edited but you still knew what they were saying to the point that he was singing the curse words like it wasn't nothing....I'm like damn the radio dont even give a fukk anymore. They play derogatory shyt all day and start early in the morning like it aint nothing and like he said the blogs are even worse. Its designed to destroy you if you say anything thats not status quo or you bark at the owners of the sites.Look at shyt like pitchfork and complex. They start to personally attack the artists and belittle our music like it aint shyt and only post that negative trap/drill/rachet/thot shyt. Its to the point where you're hard pressed to find anything positive being said about hip hop anymore. Hardly a word is spoken about how Akon is giving lights to 600 million africans or great albums being released daily (Benjamin Star, Pete Rock, Skyzoo, Dom kennedy, Clear Soul Forces) or black businesses being created and doing something positive for the city. All we get is stereotypical negative garbage that these kids obsess about all day.
