One thing that i damn near clapped at when he said it was when he spoke about black folk trading in their culture to assimilate and getting nothing positive from it. Its something that's really obvious, but is never spoken about. Why do you think that is brah?

Cuz not assimilating means getting away from white people. White people will make you a target because now you are fukking with their money.

Hip hop ain't even hip hop no more.

shyt is just product placement for large corporations.

Apple
Beats
Multiple liquor companies
Tobacco industries
Club/strip club owners

Edit: I forgot cars and designer clothes too :snoop:
Man hiphop has been that way since the 80's. The problem is that ppl don't want to accept the reality that hiphop is part of pop culture.
Rappers and corporations have been working together even before run dmc was talking about "my Adidas"

We just need to accept that as much as we love(or loved) hiphop. It's no different than what has or is happening to other genres of popular music (like rock and country for example)

This. But you leave to lsa and they'll bring up what he used to do. I got pissed about the last thread on him & never commented because I love how he's matured himself. He's about positivity and uplifting black people now. & trying to help us stay off a path of deconstruction. He ain't about demeaning black women anymore. @Regine Hunter & I share that man.
We don't.
You just keep stealing my dudes. One day me and you gonna fight :slapfight:

We need a new Motown to fukk up the game. Take over the market. These cacs got our music in a head lock controlling the message and how often we hear it.

Fans are brainwashed abd don't even know it.
That's bullshyt though, can't be blaming cacs anymore. Not in this day and age when ANYONE can go independent and drop music.

Big black run labels like cash money, bad boy, mmg, etc can all release what they want but choose not to.

The problem isn't about having the message controlled, the problem is too many rappers want to do the same daamn thing and release this demonic bs that's not progressing the culture at all.

I don't mind sponsorship but it's over the top now. Back then you only had a few acts really promoting brands now it's EVERYBODY.

Look I don't mind that hiphop is changing I'm just on the campaign that we need to bring BALANCE!

We have an extreme lack in variety to what's openly available to folks on a mainstream level and unfortunately not all people search on the Internet for new music to listen to.

Ain't nothing wrong with turning up but it's a problem when that's all we're doing.

Btw, that's not all just a few.

I just hate how our whole society is all geared towards marketing and branding and money money money!!!
Hiphop is just doing their own version of it.

I hate that I can't go anywhere without some kind of ad or gimmick being thrown in my face

Legalized brainwashing

Got our sisters thinking they need nose jobs from Beyoncé to your favorite actress and our brothers thinking they need to go the strip club
