The 718
prices in 2013 were way higher than 97-01, even when you adjust for inflation
Plus the other big thing was international buys. WrestleMania 27-29 did less than the Attitude Era WrestleManias domestically but the international business got them over a million in buys.

Highest domestic buyrate was 975k for X7 (1 million+ worldwide). Rock/Cena did something like 750k, and 1.2 million worldwide.

My guy me wonderful ruined his career chasing the one goblin payday. Instead of taking time off and putting pressure on cokeboy as the only natural person to be opposite Hogan as a heel, solo. Instead he let Hogan and vkm talk him into greed and as a result for one payday. That could have been more. He also lost all musculature and real use of his arm.

Mr wonderful ruined his shyt forever and ruined any opportunity to take over as the heel champion in a program with Hogan for one pay day greed.
Goofball came back to wcw taking offbramd pix trying to pose with a bad arm like a mike Epps comedy skit.

Ol bae bar face ass......

Never let nobody talk you into ruining your health for a payday.
Never be that impressionable.
How did his arm get so fukked up?

He was experiencing problems with it in '86, but he was in the middle of the Hogan feud and didn't wanna take the time off for the surgery. So it kept getting worse. He finally took the time off in '87 once it was clear Andre was doing Mania III, and then came back that summer before it fully healed... so this whole time, his arm went through atrophy. And it's one of those things that can't really be fixed once the damage is done.

he would have lost that argument though. Vince would've plugged Bundy, signed dibiase earlier, pushed piper even more, hell, he recycled harley race on SNME as fodder for hulk...vince viewed hogans foes as interchangable whether right or wrong

Imagine the numbers they could've done if they ran more stadiums during the attitude era :wow:

which is why mr wonderful should have taken his time off and came back and had years left on his career.
instead of the lost musculature in his arm career he had after that.
he could have taken time off and still got a program with hogan and many more.
plus could have been the guy to take the strap off of hogan in a change of pace from the wwe with hogan as champ as well.
as he was the next logical guy to get the strap other than hogan and later macho.

The build to their first match was crazy.

Rock publicly acknowledging Cena in his return promo and seeing them interact the first time on screen was just :damn:

It was the first time since maybe the attitude era of seeing a build up and feeling like I absolutely HAD TO see the match.
This. The feud gets a lot of hate and indifference now but when the Rock rolled out for the first time and started going in on Cena I was as hype as I can remember

I agree that he should've put his health first, but it was also a time that it was easy for someone to lose a spot and that's probably what he was thinking of. Especially with it happening in the middle of the feud- they were doing events, TV, and house shows. shyt, look at when Steamboat took the summer off because his son was about to be born and had to drop the IC title. By the time he came back, Savage/HTM was the super hot feud and he was stuck doing nothing. Stuff like that probably happened all the time back then cause there were so many stars- sure, someone else could step in your spot while you're gone, but you might not get the spot back when you return. Orndorff definitely made a bad move in the long run because it stifled his career, but in the moment I guess he knew he might not get the chance to have that run again.

Before luger came around,....
There was no other golden boi with that look.
Plus no one in WWE history actually had a great match with Hogan. While looking the part and immediately being ushered into the me like Mr wonderful.
He should have got care and rehabbed then returned.

Yeah he may have never gotten that mania check. Yet he would have rather easily returned. As for that time before uwf, or Jake or rude showed up. Mr wonderful was that guy and even incomparison to rude and Jake. Paul had better musculature and a more devastating finisher that if slapped on Hogan would have had convincability and could have created the enfsmous Hogan injury angle work as well.

I agree :manny: mr. Wonderful was over as hell. Shame his career went like it did. It should have mirrored piper's. Worse that he was almost parylized in that total bullshyt 10 man or whatever tag match in 2000 wcw

Those a$$holes were wrestling over his frozen body in the ring. I dont know how nobody talks about that shyt.
