No homo, Nas was just as handsome, and nikkas call him a GOAT
Dave you're just not fukking nice
I would take over that lane if I'm himSo make music for the bytches, dummy.
So make music for the bytches, dummy.
Hes good looking but he aint a dime or anything
Every new spitter that come out y'all gonna say the same shyt "oh bu bu but the old nikkas was saying it better"
*Insert generic 2000's mixtape rapper was better
Dave East a good rapper, he got messages in his music, he got pain in his music, he got a story. He's not a perfect rapper but he can spit and has a lot of good music out.
This is really what it all boils down toDude has a very clear lane but it seems like he doesn't know what the fukk to do with it. And Def Jam is straight clueless so you can't count on them to steer him in the right direction.
.
Y'all clowns commenting in the thread ain't even watch the video. He didn't even say nikkas is hating on him because of his "looks." Y'all nikkas just here what y'all wanna hear.
And for those of y'all calling him wack, yeah, Dave East isn't the most amazing lyricist, but he's a good lyricist that knows how to tell a story, has a good ear for beats, and most importantly, makes good music, all while keeping that NY authenticity.
It's okay, not every rapper has to be the next Nas. He's better than most of the trash out right now.
This generation wants to have it both ways.... they want old heads to give them cultural legitimacy, but they don't want to put the work into their craft to earn ithope you aint saying Cain and Stack is generic?I dont know if you honestly ever heard a pain rap
and no I dont do that, but I aint gon lie either if old nikkas was saying it better....theres a reason even the version of those "old nikkas" is still able to outshine Dave East and show why he dont belong in prime time yet
Since you mentioned him Fab has a fascinating rap career if you think about itHis problem is he doesn't look like a street rapper. He needs to make records for the bytches but he probably can't pull it off convincingly. He need to holla at Fabolous and ask him how he straddled that line between street shyt and R&B records so easily. That's his lane. This trying to be a full on street nikka ain't gonna work.
Since you mentioned him Fab has a fascinating rap career if you think about it
Fab been around and relevant since 2000 breh
