Dave Chapelle is a thinking comedian. If you are a big fan of current rap music and in general don't like to think about the world you live in, he's not the comedian for you. I thought the two specials were great. Dave has a unique way of talking about current issues, which I always find enlightening. And his ability to intertwine humor takes it to the next level. Easily one of the best comedians of his generation.

nikka shut the fukk up :stopitslime::mjlol:

Should have qualified that. I more so meant this type of rap music...

versus this

Dave requires you think. A lot of rap music these days, is all about the beat and background melody, the lyrics are irrelevant. That's not Dave. Dave is nuanced...and to be honest it's not surprising. His Great-Grandfather was the President of Allen University. Also, this is not to say that you won't like Dave if you're not critically thinking, but it is to say that you won't appreciate as much. I don't remember which special it was, but in one of them he talked about how America had changed during WWII. While he did in a way that made it funny, everything he spoke was the complete truth. Another example of this would be the joke about Dr. King and the shoe deal.

Another beautifully crafted joke, that is made possible by a keen understanding of the compromises that current athletes make in the present and who Dr. King was and stood for. The entire line of jokes about Bill Cosby again were beautifully crafted. The humor hides the intelligence, but the intelligence is what creates the framework for the humor. No comedian mixes intelligence, knowledge and humor together better. With Dave you get an array of metaphors, similes, analogies and much much more. Dude, is the comedic equivalent of Langston Hughes.

When his son made him go to a Kevin hart show:mjlol:

Might be my favorite bit out of the 2 :mjlol::mjlol:

Dave is still fukking hilarious man.

I see a lot of people saying they like the second one better. I just finished watching that one and I watched the first one last night. They BOTH was great but I'm kinding leaning towards #1

yall gotta stop basing how good the show is how into it the crowd is man...did yall see that crowd? its a bunch of cacs that are under 25 & shyt...they saw chappelle show when they were like 8 years old...its literally the same crowd of people he quit doing chappelle's show over if you really wanna look at it for what it is...

he was performing for the same people who go on twitter and are appalled by the simplest of things..thats why when his jokes got slightly controversial you could see all the women tense up in the room and all their boyfriends either look uncomfortable or laugh really hard and not notice how weird it made their girl feel. luckily dave just keeps his set going...patrice woulda commented on all the pussies in the room aligning.

maybe it's my headphones but I thought the crowd in both specials was good...I was hearing constant laughter. Yea there were times of awkward laughter but comedians like Dave always get that but I don't think the crowds were as bad as some are making them out to be

The crowd in the second one sounded like a laugh track especially toward the end.

could be but at the end of the day I enjoyed both and if you did too (not specifically saying you but anyone who watched it) then that should be all that matters. fukk I look like caring if other people are laughing at jokes I am :stopitslime:

comedy is subjective after all

Im glad people are offended

Its about time a comedian broke the ice and said some politically incorrect shyt.

The LGBT shyt has to be questioned, period... Otherwise we'd just be taking a social movement for granted.

I never bought into the tranny thing, and motherfukkers always corrected me on some "we're just gonna start doing this" shyt.

Alright, Im not saying trannies are mentally unstable, but show me one example of a well adjusted tranny? There isn't one in the media:hubie:.

Social movements are supposed to be led by people, right? Who's the face of this one? Bruce "I believe marriage is between a man and a woman" Jenner?
