Yeah, a lot of women have traction alopecia, I'd even say the majority of them do. I swear, next time look at the hairline of a chick who has had a lot of weaves/braids in her life, you'll see the hairline is back further than you'd expect.

i've been noticed, its a sad sight. i have an ocd issue where i try to decipher how many black women are natural vs weaves, perms, wigs.

so men are the only ones who have made that assumption with you, huh :mjpls:

No and I actually didn't state which sex said that particular statement. That could have come from a man or a woman, but this particular statement came from a man.

from that particulat statement, you could infer you're talking about a man.

How? women use phrases like "these women" too (especially in a context where they consider themselves different from the women they are referring to).

If it was based "being ignorant to the fact that black women can grow hair", that can be used for both sexes too.

Essentially, you're asking for everyone to treat each case differently, right?

So, each female we meet, we should assume it's their real hair FIRST? How do we go about finding out if it's real or fake? Do we ask? Will asking offend you, still? Men are at a lose-lose.

We don't want to be with weave heads, so we ask.

We ask and you get offended.

We don't ask, we may end up with a weave head.

You woman make things too complicated. :smh:

I'm bout to start pawgin it. :ahh:

I guess what I'm getting at is, don't get mad at us for asking. School your peers on how to be natural like you. Then we can break all stereotypes.

There a difference between asking nicely and telling someone "nice weave" like it is suppose to be a compliment.

More than likely the nikka who said it was tryna sneak diss you. What type of man compliments a weave? The nikka was :troll:ing in his mind. Some guys see attractive woman, and throw curves at them just to bring them down a notch. It looks like it worked against you.

:lolbron:

You still sexy tho. :mjpls:

last chick I was with had a weave.

She went and got her hair washed at the beauty shop.

I had no problem with it....and to me, it kinda adds a little variation to their looks

lol I knew for sure that at least one was wearing a weave hence my "men can't even tell" post.

of course in most cases they cannot tell...but always complaining...lol

I have never worn a weave in my life but people constantly tell (not ask if it is one first)me how nice my weave is, and when I tell them it is not a weave they ask me how often do I perm lmao...you cannot win being a black woman...hahaha
