Dug their hole playing a lineup with Bron at center and zero shooters.

Called a stupid late timeout when the Lakers were up and Grizzlies were about to foul the best free throw shooter. That forced an inbound pass leading to a turnover when they could have just held the ball and gotten exactly what they wanted.

I'm sure there was more from hearing the reactions but I missed most of the game.

Mo Bamba is in his 5th year in the league, joined the team over two months ago, has been on the floor in 9 games. If you're not going to play him when the other team has an elite 7-footer and you have no backup center, when are you going to play him? So maybe he commits a couple fouls, so what? At least get him in there and see what he can do, if you want to win a title you could have Sabonis, Jokic, and Embiid in your future so you need this guy.
I got no problem playin Bamba. But he's not the backup defensive savior tho... or relief for AD. Of course he would be committing fouls...that would be his primary role. He's 6 fouls for KAT (or Joker or KD, etc) and should be fighting for any rebounds that come his way. Which is exactly what Wenyan provides as well. And Wenyon has more minutes in a Lakers jersey...isnt coming off an injury and wasnt just traded here. Bamba didnt exactly earn that backup spot before he went down. Thats why Ham has Gabriel as the backup. Also we have our 4s like Vandy and Rui sharing coverage on Center duty so Gabriel got barely any burn. Who you taking out the game for Mo fukking Bamba breh? Bamba and Tristen are probably only gonna play if one of the aforementioned bigs go down or get into foul trouble. Thats the current reality.

Lebron. This team needs to go thru AD.

Why should the Lakers run the offense through a player who plays with no sense of urgency and gets flustered when he gets double-teamed?..... We've seen AD play passively on offense even when Lebron was not in uniform. AD allows the defense to take him out of the game...The Lakers' offensive rating when Lebron plays (55 gms) is 116.1 which would be 6th best in the NBA...In 27 games without Lebron, the Offensive rating is 113.1 which would be 24th or 8th worse......Very Impressive when you consider most of the games with Lebron were played pre-trade deadline, and most of the games without were post-trade.....We have more options, but those options did not show up....Options 3/4 (Dlo. Reaves) were a combined 5 for 22 shooting, and Vanderbilt was 0 for 2 in 22 minutes....Had Lebron deferred to AD and the Lakers lost this game he would've gotten grilled. There would be 5-10 threads talking about how passive Lebron was.

AD should get more touches, but not at the expense of Lebron being the head of the offense...AD also needs to be more aggressive throughout the basketball game.

Not sure if you’re just trolling but you just wrong.

-Wenyen Gabriel played two minutes…TWO. The entire game.

-Reeves played the most non Bron or AD minutes, 39.

-Lakers have 4 guards who could play 30+ minutes for any team in the league. It’s gonna be a game to game call to see who’s hot that night. Tonight it was Schroeder. That’s not ‘bailing him out’, that’s a coach rightly identifying and riding the hot hand

The lakers have 2 issues. 1, No backup big. And 2 …Lebron. This team needs to go thru AD. Bron kinda stifles the offense by reverting to that old ‘Bron needs help’ iso ball. Meanwhile he now has PLENTY of help. And plenty of creators. Lakers look better offensively when Reeves/Russell/Schroeder is involved in p&r, which makes sense bc they’re young and crafty guards, not a 40 year old energy conserving run the clock down Bron

The one nikka on the team who been ball all season is an issue :dead:

Hey I’m not sure if the issue is bron or if it’s AD. Idk. And brother I’m not into all that offensive rating, efg, Net VORP, all that shyt:heh:….all I know is we JUST saw AD looking every bit of Jokic, Giannis, Embiid’s equal when Bron was out

So THAT version of AD can match if not outplay other #1s; Ja, KD, Steph, Jokic, etc. And then when you consider Lebron is better than all #2’s, THAT Laker team can win it all

Whereas Lebron as the #1? At his age, at best he can match them. I don’t see him pulling a 2018 game 1 anymore… then you factor in this little brother passive AD as your #2 , he’s not even gonna be guaranteed to better than other #2s. Ie last night if not for foul trouble KAT thoroughly outplayed him :yeshrug:

This.

This game was pretty easy to pinpoint the issues and none were coaching:

About 2 or 3 unforced turnovers by Bron

About 2 or 3 butterball naked shots they gave up to Anderson early. Like yea he can’t shoot, but gotdamn he’s an nba player

2 or 3 lazy close out or ‘aww shyt I lost my man’ 3s given up by lebron on defense. (Low key conley might have been Bron’s assignment on that foul)

It seems small but that’s 10-14 points right there. That’s the difference between a close game and a light blowout. A ton of it comes back to Lebrons ‘I conserve energy on defense’ approach

R I P. But as a longtime Kings fan , this sounds exactly like this guy.

I have no issue with AD getting just as many/or more touches/shots than Lebron...But you can't tell Lebron to fall back and exclusively be the #2 option when AD has moments where he plays passively on offense. Especially when Lebron is still one of the most impactful offensive players in the league....Lebron being offensively aggressive is very important to the Laker's offense because it creates opportunities for other players (Open shots, offensive rebounds) and pulls the defense away from the secondary options which gives them more space to drive/cut to the basket...Are there times when Lebron takes an ill-advised shot or holds the ball a little too long?.... Yes...But you can say that about 95% of all the great offensive players. I wish AD had the same give me the got damn ball mentality.
