I can understand the comparisons with The Avengers, but only because both movies are expected to be big sellers. That's the only similarity if you ask me.
The Avengers was a juvenile flick, and that's what it wanted to be. It was packed full of proven-stars, playing roles that were already proven to be appealing to audiences, playing the typical goodguys v. badguys role...where the goodguys always win. The Avengers was PREDICTABLE. That being said, it stuck to the formula well, and produced an enjoyable, light-hearted, fun movie. It was FAR from any sort of film masterpiece. It'll be remembered as a cool superhero flick, nothing more. Let's be real, they were fighting the brother of Thor, the god of thunder. Seriously?
DK and DKR are true FILMS. Masterpieces. DK, and I'm sure DKR, are thought-provoking films. You don't leave the theatre feeling a little stupid, thinking "that was fun" after a movie like DK or DKR. You leave the theatre still thinking about the movie...replaying it in your mind...analyzing it...talking about it. This is a film that will be talked about for a long time, just as DK was.
NEVER been so pumped for a movie in my life lol.
