B Robb Celtics writer wrote this the other day

Boston Celtics Mailbag: Carmelo Anthony, Blake Griffin odds, Danilo Gallinari trade possibility, can Noah Vonleh help?

Gallinari will be treated as a two-year contract in any negotiations since there’s no way he’s declining that player option coming off a torn ACL. However, his salary ($6.5 million) opens up the door for some bigger deals since Boston could take back 125 percent of that salary. Throw in a couple players making minimum money with Gallinari in a deal and Boston could land a big man making $10 million or more. Using Gallinari in a trade also allows the team more flexibility to pursue other upgrades while keeping their core intact. Don’t look for any deal like this soon, (the team wants to see their own internal options first) but any major trade that comes up during the season could definitely including Gallinari as salary filler.

Didn't know it was possible to even trade his contract this season:ehh:

Also sounds like they aren’t signing Melo or any vet and are gonna give Hauser a shot :francis:

And we still don’t have a reliable backup wing. The depth of this is team is worrying. We’ve got a great top 8 but outside of that is extremely unimpressive. We can’t expect to make Finals runs while using short rotations all season

Makes no sense considering Hauser was already here and they still signed Gallinari. They wouldn't have signed Gallinari if they believed in Hauser. Now it's about "keeping their internal options open." :gucci:

Word on the street is that the Celtics didn't sign Carmelo because they were worried about his "defensive liabilities"

Then why sign Gallo then? lol

Still wished they kept Marcus Morris. Even though he's a nutjob

We’re allegedly interested in trading for Crowder

I don’t think we have an exception large enough to fit him so we’d have to move a player

I might do Pritchard and some 2nds for him. Feel like adding Brogdon and drafting JD has made him more expendable. That said, I’d imagine Phoenix can get a better deal

And we don’t even have a legit backup center so we’re either getting Grant at the 5 or Kornet minutes

Sitting on the TPE to spare Wyc’s pockets has backfired badly with this news and Gallo
